I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model and manufacturer of the universal remote you have. I'll try to confirm the available codes and how to program the unit.
Either the fan motor
the fan control relay
or the fan control relay switching transistor
the unit is re starting because the gas is not getting cooled
If competent check for voltage at the fan and work you way back
Sorry for this delay. I just found your question. If the fan won't even come on, it is probably an electrical relay problem on the control board. Please look it over real well before tossing it to make sure there is no fuse or reset button. Two years is certainly unacceptable. I am sure the warranty has expired, but I would raise some dust on the place you bought it from! They may give you a deal on a new one from a different Manufacturer. Without having it to check, I'm sorry I can't do more for you. Best of luck with them! Roger
if the lower fan speeds dont work but the fastest speed does the heater fan resistor block needs replacing. If the highest fan speed doesnt work leave it on there and check for power at heater blower fan, if power is on one wire and the other is an earth the blower motor fan needs replacing. Use a normal globe test light to check this. If no power on any wires to fan go back and check all fuses in car and under bonnet with same test light. If fuses are ok possible open circuit wire to fan.
Hi, Here is a tip that gives a further explanation of that E-1 code. The causes of the E-1 code can be varied depending or the brand of your air conditioner.
Read through this tip... it will help you understand what is happening with your window air conditioning unit and give you some things to try to help you get your problem resolved.
HI, The airconditioner turns on the auxillary fan when the compressor is on
via a relay. I would change the relay. If hard wired the fan to
the compressor I would think the fuse has blown since there is too much
of a load on one circuit. Check to A/C fuse. If the fuse is no good replace it.If it is not the fuse, check the fuse under the HOOD..
Please post back for how things turned or for further assistance..Thank you!..Regards!!..
