Have you considered NOT connecting your camera to your computer? The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa (http://picasa.google.com ).

A Few options

First the easiest:

Download Google's free Photo software "Picasa" http://picasa.google.com/

It is easy to use for all kinds of photo tasks including downloading off all types of cameras

Second more complex:

Windows should recognize your camera
plug in camera
go to my computer
click on the camera
drag the photos you want to the location on your computer you would like to keep them

Hope this helped

I have a cracked screen. What do I do to fix it?

If you take or send it in for service, the cost will be over $100. Is it worth it to you? If you're handy with electronic equipment and soldering, you could buy a similar model on Ebay and swap out the screens.

I bought 1 with the same problem. got it for 6 dollars so it was worth lookin into. I took it apart, removed the black plastic cover on the positive battery terminal, then I sanded the corrosion off the terminal, after that I applied WD40 with a qtip then put it back together. Works like a charm now
