I already opened it up . this is how I removed the CD from the unit. When I try to push it back in, I hear the assist motor trying to take the CD in, but nothing happens. When I force it back in all the way, it engauges and plays. I need to know if this mechanism is gear or belt driven and what I have to remove to get to it and repair it. Thanks

  • RamonC Apr 09, 2011

How do I get to those gears. what do I take apart to access them ?

  • RamonC Apr 09, 2011

The advise I got from the other tech is something I already have done. There are many screws and I would like to know which ones to remove so as not to over do my disassembly. I juut want to get at the CD insert assist drive to replace what ever is broken.

If it is the belt what is the easist way to access it . I already have the unit open and i can not see it

    THANK YOU

Hello
Either your indash CD players' loading motor or its loading belt is faulty. During long run it is common to be the belt get loose. Just try by replacing the belt first. In most cases the fault should be retifed. If not, check the pulling power of loading motor. To access it, you have to open your CD player, and get it power supply to an external supply adapter. When a disc is inserted, it will draw in, by the help of loading motor and its associated gear wheels. If you catch the pully of that loading motor, when it attempts to take a CD in. there will be a force for its rotation, and we can feel to our fingers.. It won't allow us to put it to stop, that much force will be there, and should be. If the force of rotation of the loading motor pullye is less, replace the motor with same type and number. The problem to your CD player is purely mechanical, and not for an electical or control circuit. If you want anymore assitance feel free to get me by Fixya. OK.

    Hello
This type of mechanisms are motor, gear wheels, and liver engaging types. Tese can be damged very easly, and the complaint rate to these types are high. now your players' functions, all except the mechanism, is working fine. in these type of mechanisms. if the livers that pulls discs in and out may get a slight bend or worn out, they wont work properly, and it will be very difficult to get the spare livers or gear wheels, or even its loading motor. So I advice you to replace the damaged mechanism with a new one, rather than making adjustments to it, or making a 'sugery' over it. During repair, if something happens to touch whic its other circuit parts, and gets shorted, the present condition of the circuit board also will go out, and the set may get irreparable.
These type machanisms are easly available in electronc sparepart shops, and not cost too much. 'New one is New, and repaired one is Repaired". Isn't it? Get the mechanism out of the set, without making andy damge to its strip wires and other connections from the main board and to, keep this mechanism as a sample with you, and go for a new one. Reset the player. it will be good for you rather than destroying the other components too. OK.

First fashion to try here is rebooting the system. You can do this by disconnecting the vehicles battery for several minutes.

Send us details about your brand and model device.

The unit needs to be taken apart. Something is probably jammed with the
eject mechanism, or the tolerances are higher than they should be with
the rest of the moving parts.

    Good luck.

Only if you are out warranty, and if you're feeling ballsy, you can take it apart yourself with some small screwdrivers (and sometimes torx). The problem with trying to use tweezers, is that if the the disc lock is engaged, you can't pull it out, unless you open the deck up.

Yes youre right sir there is an assist motor there is an assist motor that activates by the CD in sensor in your case examine the assist motor mechanism. There might be a problem on the gears causing the mechanism fails to take the CD in.You need to re align the mechanical and be very careful when dis assembling the mechanism. There is a timing on mechanical movement of every gears and mechanism so you need to arrange them to the right gear timing...good luck!

open the top cover of your player and you can see the mechanism remove the parts one by one so you will not be confused with the placement of every parts.just like I told you before you can consult a skilled technician to do the job.

SOURCE: stuck cd

Behind the faceplate there should be a reset button, you can try pushing that button to see if it'll eject the CD.
