Set preset buttons on a sony auto radio model35wx5

The model is installed in a 1998 Chevrolet "Cavalier" as original equipment. It has a audio tape deck and the radio has a search, two button scanning selector that will automatically retrieve the next most powerful station going up or down the dial. The receiver is AM and FM. There is a"Mode" button between the "on" and "off"
I suspected that one has to hold down one button on the control panel while pushing the selected push button of the six station selectors. I haven't been able to find the right combination. Hope this helps.
