My OXO scale has a removable weighing platform. I removed it and wiped off the top of the scale base. When I put the platform back in place and turned the scale on, the display showed the normal numbers and icons. The F was gone.

I have a Haier microwave and tonight after heating some food, I went to close the door and upon closing it, the carousel started turning and it won't shut off.

It sounds like one of the door switches has become defective, each must be disconnected on the one side and tested with a digital meter using the ohms scale.

My GE spacemaker model JVM1630BB doesn't heat up the food anymore. The interior light works and the turntable.

Hello there and than you for choosing fixya
whenever a microwave stops heating up food there are only 2 things that can make this happen
1 is the mengatron is faulty and 2 is the power inverter that is bad butthis is kind of unlikly so i will stick with the mengatron here is a idea of how it works and how to test it ok

The microwave oven is a very dangerous appliance to work on. For your personal safety, we respectfully ask that you read, fully understand and be prepared to follow carefully the list of very i
The following resistance tests will conclusively reveal a magnetron that is shorted or one that has an open filament winding.

Test 1

1. Unplug the oven (make sure the oven is completely disconnected from any power source)
3. Carefully remove all leads from the magnetron terminals. Proper wiring is important so make notes of the wire locations.
4. Set the ohmmeter to its lowest resistance scale.
5. Measure the resistance from one magnetron terminal to the other in either direction.
6. The magnetron filament resistance should be less than one ohm.

Test 2

1. With the meter set to the highest resistance scale, check from the magnetron terminals to the metal magnetron housing. (Be careful not to touch the meter leads as this will result in a false reading).
2. The meter should read infinity (open circuit) regardless of meter polarity.
3. Even a slight reading would indicate a defective magnetron.

Replacement Considerations

1. Be careful not to strike or touch the antenna dome area
2. Be sure to transfer any add-on parts, such as an air duct or thermal fuse
3. Insure that the wire mesh RF gasket is intact and in place
4. Examine the rim of the opening where the magnetron dome is to be inserted into the waveguide. Smooth out any irregularities, such as dents, pits, and burns. The rim surface should be bare metal, smooth to the touch. Use light-grade sandpaper - do not use steel wool.
5. If possible, perform and RF leakage check around the magnetron
6. If there is evidence of poor terminal connections (i.e., discolored, burned, pitted connectors), repair or replace the slip-on connectors on the filament leads

On the inside of the door of my microwave front window is an adhesive plastic covering that if you pull it off there is a black mesh screen exposed. is that clear sheet suppose to be removed.

The metal mesh is a filter screen to keep the microwaves in the oven while letting you see the food. The plastic sheet that's peeling off is meant to keep that screen clean. It's not supposed to be removed, since then food can get into the holes in the screen. A buildup of foods can lead to overheating and burn the paint and possibly damage the door. It should be replaced.

The part number is WB36X10068. A Google search turned up several sources. Here's one, but there are others. The new sheet has the adhesive applied, you just peel off the protective film and stick it in place. Clean the door inner surface first so the new sheet will stick firmly.

Good luck with the repair, and thanks for using Fixya!

Round soft key OXO Timer I need to change the clock time their model # is 1061978

Operating functions:
To set the clock, press and hold the clock/timer button for three seconds. A clock icon will appear on the left side of the screen. Input the time using the numerical buttons and then click the clock/timer button to save the time.
To set the timer, press and release the clock/timer button so that the display shows all zeroes. Enter the desired time using the keypad. Press start/stop to start the countdown. The countdown may be paused by pressing the stop/start button and resumed by pressing the same button again.
When countdown is complete, timer will beep continuously for thirty seconds and display will flash. Timer will then beep every ten seconds for ten minutes until the stop/start button is pressed.
This timer will also time up to time activities. To start count up, press clear/memory so timer reads all zeroes. Press stop/start and a plus sign will appear on the right side of the screen as the timer begins counting up.

When i try to weigh something on it it displays 'our2'. And does not work

OUR2 is probably OutZ or Out2, means you have to recalibrate your scale. Refer to your scales manual for instructions on recalibrating, usually you have to turn on your scale, press CAL button, wait till it displays for example 100g, depending on how much your scale can weight, then put that weight, for example 100g on your scale (you can use coins if you don,t have anything else, though be precise as coins can weigh more or less, informationon coins weight can be found in your country national bank site. After you put the weight, it should display OK or PASS, if it's FAIL or the scale turns itself off, it's either broken or the weight is not correct
