Question about MAG Simmons 22 Mag Rifle Scope 511039 Matte 3-9x32 W/rings

1 Answer

I bought a Simmons model 511039 3-32 rifle scope. The diagram in the manual shows the elevation adjustment as being on the side of the scope, and the windage adjustment being on top (the picture of the scope is from in front and to the left of the scope). The actual scope adjustment dial has "R" (for right) with an arrow on the side of the scope, and a "U" (for up) with an arrow on the top dial. This is opposite of the diagram. Which is correct, the diagram or the dials? email: rharold4@hotmail.com

You can set it in the rings so that it is correct. However the thing that you need to know is that the screws push on a tube in the scope so, if the side screw is turned you are adjusting windage becaues you are pushing the ube side to side. If the top tube is turned you are adjusting elevation becasue the tube is moving up and down. Another thing that you need to know is that there are springs on the side of the tubes OPPOSITE from the screws. So when you turn the screw it holds the tube tight against it.

I am unable to adjust the elevation? It seems to be stuck at 10 inches below center at 100 yards and 4 inches at 50 yards on a 243 rifle. Nothing I do moves it up?

If the scope is out of adjustments and still low, you have to shim the rear base. I'd start with two thicknesses of beer can.

Your scope has 5 adjustments:
1. Eye piece focus - used to focus on the reticle.
2. windage adjustment - should be on the R side of the scope, adjusts lateral impact point.
3. Vertical adjustment - the top turret. Adjusts vertical point of impact.
4. Power ring - adjusts the magnification of the scope.
5. AO ring - Parralax adjustment - used to focus the scope at specific distances. Most markings are not exact, you should set it at the range you are shooting and fine tune focus when you look through the scope.

Scope insternal adjustments do not do anything. This is the second new scope I have had this problem with. I have borescoped the rifle and no change in either windage or elevation screws over entire...

One of the things about bore sighting is there is no shock to the scope. They are meant to have some shock that goes along with an adjustment. Try smaller adjustments and tap the tube of the scope with a screw driver handle after every adjustment. Not so hard you dent it but hard enough to get stuff moving. Hope this Helps FixYa up.

Have no idea how to set up the sight on my air gun

I don't have this particular model. Chances are, those are not "knobs" but caps. Remove the caps as you would remove the caps from a pill bottle. Underneath, you should find the adjustment dials for windage and elevation,

You can download a generic Simmons scope manual here:

Simmons 8x32-44ao rifle scope

Is that the "Prairie Master"? I think Simmons is pretty uniform in that range of scopes--elevation adjustment should be the top dial and windage is on the side. The zoom locking ring should be in front of the eyepiece, with the zoom ring just forward of that.

You can download a generic Simmons scope manual from the Simmons site at this link: http://www.simmonsoptics.com/downloads/manuals/archive/HSI_Simmons%20Generic%20Scope%20Adjusting%20Instructions.pdf

I just bought a rifle with one on it. exactly how

the adjustment on the front eye PC is your zoom.
for your wind edge you have a series of numbers.
some scopes differ some read 5,10,15,etc
some read 1,2,3,4 etc, the # are estimated wind speed, left or right.if the wind isn't blowing set it on 0.
for your elevation you will have a series of #'s
50,75,100,etc.this is your yard edge sight it in at 75 yrd's and if what your shooting at is 100 yards just turn the knob to the correct setting.good luck

Need a manual for a simmons rifle scope model # 1022

When you click on "customer service" on the simmonsoptics.com website, it takes you to the Bushnell customer service web page.

The number for customer service that is given is:

1-888-276-5945

The customer service rep. told me to "go to the Simmons web page".

Which, of course, takes me back to the Bushnell web page. It's a circular race track.......

In my opinion, Simmons/Bushnell has lousy customer service.

I bought a 2nd hand Simmons 3-9X50 scope (model #800479) that needed the screw on caps for the reticle adjustment screws. A small request, I thought.....one that should be easily remedied by calling Simmons/Bushnell customer support.

No dice. Customer support told me to spend $15 to send them the scope, and then they "will have to look around and find something that will fit."

Oh really??? Doesn't Simmons/Bushnell already KNOW the sizes of the parts they have?

Just send me the damn caps. They will cost Simmon/Bushnell no more than a buck apiece.

Then I asked for a user manual for said scope. No dice. The customer support lady told me to find the manual on the Simmons web page.

The Simmons web page doesn't provide user manuals online.

Their customer support needs a lot of improvement.

Simmons scope that will not stay on target

Mount the rifle with the scope and make a mark on the backstop right where the crosshairs are pointed at

Shoot several times, several shots will surley jolt the scope some.

If the crosshairs have moved much past your mark then this would indicate the scope is the issue.

If the crosshairs are still pretty well centered to the mark, its not the scope.

If at the same time your grouping looks terrible, and your scope still is on the mark, and the gun is WELL mounted, then the issue is with the accuracy of the rifle.
Make sure the rifle is mounted good for this to ba accurate .
Hope this helps
