I am unable to find a photo of your laptop's keyboard, so I cannot be certain which function key will enable your wireless adapter.
However, most laptops are very similar, so this solution should work for your problem.
1) Locate the secondary function key (probably labeled "FN") on your keyboard.
2) Locate the key which controls your wireless adapter as a secondary function. It will have the following image on the key: http://cdnsupport.gateway.com/s/Mobile/2007/Phantom/WirelessIcon.gif
3) While holding the FN key, press the wireless key
4) Your wireless adapter is now enabled. If you are still having wireless issues, the problem was not that the hardware wireless adapter was disabled.
