The thermostat display blank is die to weak battery. But if batteries are replaced and still no display, then its most probably faulty thermostat. On some thermostat there is reset button, on some there is no reset button. It all depends on what is the exact model and brand of thermostat. On most of the thermostat there is a red button .Pressing that red button resets the thermostat. But on some model there is no reset button. On that thermostat has to be replaced.-------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I have A LCD Honeywell thermostat that has a display that is blank. also it is not sending anything to my furnace. there for my main level in my house is very cold. I have the same one up stairs and it is...

Replace the batteries first. Some cheap thermostats require the batteries to function. I don't know of a honeywell model that does though. Its cheap, so do that first.

If still nothing comes on and you still have a blank display with new batteries, I'd say probably the thermostat is defective. Even if the furnace is broken, new batteries SHOULD bring up the display.

1f88-290 thermostat is blank

Change batteries, the display should come up. If not, the thermostat is probably defective. Some of the cheaper White Rodgers stats require batteries to function.

Thermostat is working, but display is blank

My thermostat used to go blank when heating. It was caused by the overheat protector inside the heater. That switch cuts the power to the heater and the thermostat. The heater could also be burned out. If it's a 24Volt system, the power supply could be bad.

The display went blank on my honeywell t8600c thermostat. when the batteries were changed, the display shows the time and -AC. Nothing else functions

I believe this thermostat will display -ac if it loses power from the furnace or air handler. Your thermostat will operate on low voltage(same as your door bell) and constantly powers your thermostat. I would check your furnace breaker, and fuses to see if there is power to the equipment

Honeywell ac thermostat not working

The replacement batteries may be no good or may have been installed with the wrong polarity. Also, if your Honeywell thermostat latches into a wall mount, you may have reinstalled it incorrectly. I speak from experience

Chronotherm III Thermostat Completely Blank Screen, No Heat

One of two things either the disply has gone out which is likely as it is a common failure for that thermostat or your heating unit is not sending control power. the older chronotherms were system (24volt ac) powered the new hardware/box store units are battery powered. Either way display should not be blank with fresh batteries. to get heat on remove the thermostat jumper or twist together the wire from the R terminal with the wire from the W terminal. note the color of each wire for later reference, heat up house disconnect wires from each other and go purchase a new thermostat
