SOURCE: premature brushes wearing

Check the commutator on the armature where the brushes make contact. If one or more of the copper contacts are raised or if the surfaces of the contacts are roughed up they will grind your brushes away instead of just rubbing on them. If the contacts are broken or raised there is little you can do to fix it but to replace the armature. If the contact surfaces are worn or roughed up, there are dressing stones you can use to resurface them.

Can pressure plate vibrate a car


Hi in most situations the pressure plate creates this kind of fault. Examine the clutch plate for premature failure. EG: WORN spline hub, damper springs,friction material damaged.IN some case experiences the flyweel developed hard sports (burnt marks) or flyweel surface not running through when tested with a dial gauge.

1992 gmc 5.7 350 nv3500 4wd standard transmission loses power while engine revs like my clutch is slipping, but no grinding gears and clutch pedal is fine. any ideas on what may be wrong


does sound like slipping clutch , you may not get all the symptoms at once , the slipping usually starts first then the hard gear change etc cant think what else it could be , may have oil contamination on clutch plate this would cause the slip , crank seal ? i think your going to have to drop the box and have a look keep me posted if you wish

On a suzuki dr200, as the clutch wears, does the freeplay tighten at the clutch lever or loosen?


In most cases, neither.

Usually, the clutch release mechanism (push rod, ball/ramp, etc) doesn't wear a much as the clutch plates.
So if anything, as the clutch plates wear, more slipping will be present (due the the pressure plate now putting less pressure on the plate stack-up).
HOWEVER, the clutch cable can/will stretch, causing the clutch lever to "loosen" (more free play).

Apart from using the wrong mixture of 2 stroke engine oil and petrol what causes the pistons to be dameged on a ts410 stihl saw


Power cutters run in a very dusty enviroment, if concrete dust passes the filter and enters the cylinder it will very quicky remove the plating on the cylinder and wear the piston skirt, once into the bearings it will destroy them, if the rings are badly worn ( remove them from the piston and check the end gap by entering them into the cylinder, if the gap is excessive you have had dust entering the cylinder )

Clutch needs adjustment


as the clutch wears the "free pedal" is reduced ... its easy to adjust "free pedal" and important to do so .. when there is very little or no free movement above where the clutch engages/disengages then the clutch starts to wear rapidly ... if there are no other symptoms like clutch chatter, slipping or noise then the clutch plate likely has some life left if it is adjusted properly and promptly ..

How do I replace the brakes on a 1995 sc400.


  1. Remove wheel.
  2. Remove the bottom caliper bolt, and turn caliper up
  3. Remove following parts:
    1. Two anti-squeal springs.
    2. Two brake pads.
    3. Four anti-squeal shims.
    4. Two pad wear indicators.
    5. Four pad support plates.
  1. Install new pad support plates.
  2. Install pads as follows:
    1. Install wear indicators on pads.
    2. Apply disc brake grease to both anti-squeal shim. Then install shims on each pad.
    3. Install pads with wear indicators facing downward.
    4. Install anti-squeal springs.
  1. Remove small amount of brake fluid from reservoir.
  2. Place a wooden plate on pistons, and press pistons in with hammer handle or equivalent.
  3. Install calipers and bolts. Tighten to specifications.
  4. Ensure brake fluid is at Max line.

Putting wrong transmition oil in yz 125


Nothing significant, don't worry about it. You do NOT want oil marked EC, signifying energy conservation. Such oil will cause the clutch plates to slip and premature clutch wear. If the oil you put in does say EC on the small round type seal simply drain it out and put in the correct oil. Not critical but the sooner the better.

Where is the starter on the 1995 eagle vision


It is well buried. You will find the tail end of it just above and rearward of the driver's side motor mount. It is fastene to the trans bell housing. There is probably a trans line support bracket/plate you will need to remove usually mounted to the middle stud. Be sure to disconnect the battery before you start because the cable is connected directly to battery. There also should be a shim plate between the nose mounting and transmission bell housing. That shim can be a pain but it does prevent premature wear to the flywheel ring gear. (it only fits one way) Those starter solonoids are a common failure item. (only gives a click, or sometimes not even that, when trying to crank.) Let me know if this is helpful
