Question about Samsung Washing Machines

Samsung Front Loader P801 5 years old - bangs and dances during spin even at low speed get error message E6 when it cuts out. No mention of E6 error in manual. Troubleshooting section of manual of no help. It is not aload balancing proble, the machine is level and is not touching anything else etc. Has something broken inside which stabilises the drum during spin cycle?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

First the 'E6'. The only Manufacturer's decode I have for Samsung 'E6' is 'water temperature rising/ falling too quickly, check thermistor'. I would go through the balancing act (detailed below) and then see if it recurs. If so it's a service call I'm afraid ;-0(

Now the dancing
Although you say it's level I would recommend you try my method to make absolutely certain before considering something inside ;-0)
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly!
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.
If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal suspension is malfunctioning.

Good luck,

John C

This error code indicates that the water heater is heating water too fast. Press the power button once to clear the error and finish the cycle before repair.

Try a new load of load of clothes and watch for when the error occurs. If it is during a spin cycle or part of the laundry where hot water is not used, then the part is defective. Simply reset the load each time or replace the part.

Bosch Maxx Classic front loader makes a loud banging noise before starting up spin cycle, and lately has displayed the E6 error message. Not sure what is causing this.

an addition.. pulled one apart, pulled drum apart and guess what I found.. the so called "spider"(the thing that attaches spindle that goes into bearing, and other side connects to the steel drum) is made if alloy and TOTALLY corroded by detergent.. Bosch didn't know that detergent is a corrosive substance???? I guess German engineers are .. put your own word.. ;)

E59 Error on Frigidaire front loader - won't spin

I finally solved this same problem on mine error code E59 and the main symptom of the drum never spinning even right at the beginning of the load cycle. I did Test 12 based on the following link: (MAKE SURE THE POWER CORD IS UNPLUGGED TO THE MACHINE)http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Webster/134542000.pdf. I found that the motor was fine which meant the problem was with the speed control board. On my speed control board there are 3 locations that connectors plug into it. Make sure these are all firmly connected. One of the three is a very weak press fit connection clamping over the edge of the circuit board. This had wiggled loose on my machine from all the dancing across the concrete floor in the basement this machine does. I pressed this connection in firmly, put everything back together and it started working like new!

Good luck.

Samsung P801 Front Loader shakes violently during spin cycle.

When the washer goes into spin cycle it is suppost to start at a slow speed and continue to increase speed (to a maximum of 800 RPM) as the water leaves the clothes. Your washer is going directly to 800 RPM which causes the washer to shake and stop giving you the E4 code. The control board that controls this speed increase must be replaced.

Irregular banging during cycle

these washers are a swine to dis-assemble and i would not recommend it unless you are experienced. on most indesit, the bearings are in a spider bolted to the outside of the tub. take the back off and see if you can localise the noise to the bearings worthwhile also taking the heater out (one nut in the middle), peer in and check no foreign object causing the noise
