The blower motor is shot. How can I relace the part, or even buy a new unit that I can slip into the hole already in my bedroom wall?

This appears to be Made by Emerson for Maytag. I was not able to locate an Emerson Service manual to tell you how to replace the motor.

How much would it be to rebuild the engine- Straight gas put in. Engine seized up- Or just go ahead and buy a new one

First try this... put some 30 weight oil in the plug hole aso much as you can until it reaches top of plug hole. Let it sit there a few days allowing the oil to creep between the walls and piston. .. then try turning the flywheel with a socket and ratchet, a little forward, a little the opposite...

Now, if that doesn't work, it depends on your unit... if we are talking about a $400 top model back packer, then it would be worth getting it repaired... you would be paying between 150 and 200... if the unit costarts 300 or less than buy a new one... period

What type of screw holds the blower motor in the housing. 2007 Saturn

Found this on a Saturn forum:
The oem bolts are listed as M4.2x2.25x16, which is super-hard if not impossible to buy at any kind of hardware or fastener store. You can't even mail order them or buy them online. The closest is M4.2x1.41x16, but the threads are then different and they won't work. So, if new plastic, #8's will work, but if re-using a fan motor cup and panel that has already had bolts put in, you'll have to re-use bolts of--exactly--the same measurement. (Unless, of course, you fill the holes with something like jb weld--but softer--and then cut new threads with new #8 bolts, but that would be risky, might hold, might fail...)

How to change blower motor 2001 Kia Sephia

just offering advice on a general application for a broad number of vehicles as im not sure where your blower motor is.
car manufacturers know that the blower motor gets used as much as the radio, so they generally make it easy to remove and reinstall.
if you have the new blower motor , look under the hood for a part that looks like that one sometimes they put it under the passenger side dash
. also look at that new part and count the holes on the flat part and its usually 3 or 4 retaining screws that go thru the holes
find out where yours is on your car, and look for the screws that are holding it into place. those need to be unscrewed
its normally pretty simple to remove the retaining screws and unplugging the wire connector, then pull the motor and fan blade assembly out of the hole . now you most likely have to remove the fan blades and put them on your new motor. sometimes its a clip holding the fan blades on, sometimes its just a nut that has to be taken loose.
put the fan blades on your new motor , put the motor back in place and put the screws back in place and plug it back in.

First thing i would do is unplug the old fan connector, and if you can get the new fan close enough to the connector, plug the new motor in the connector and see if it spins ( before you try to take the old one out)
if it spins , then the problem is defianately a bad motor and you need to switch it out

Window or wall mount

The differance between a window and wall mounted A/C is the mounting system.
Window units are usually smaller BTU systems they set in the window, so you do not have to cut a hole in the wall to install it.
For a bedroom say 10 x 10 you can use @ 5000 btu it plugs into a standard 120 volt electric outlet. If the room is bigger then go bigger say @ 6000 btu or so. Take your room dementions with you when shopping for a unit. sometimes they have sizing on the side of the unit box.
Wall units are usually larger units. Like whole house 18,000 btu
they slide in and out of the case and use a 240 volt seperate circuit.
Best place to shop for A/C's are Home Depot, Lowes, Sams Club, B.J.'s, and Cosco they buy in large volumeusually give a Good deal I've seen 5000 btu units as low as $89.00
Just don't drop the unit out the window when installing it
From the second floor it will void your warranty. LOL
Good Luck Phil

Air handler squeals

Squealing sounds from a forced-air heat pump generally occur when the belt that connects the motor to the fan slips. If the blower is making a grinding noise, shut off the unit and call a heat pump repair technician --the motor's bearings are probably shot. In most cases, the belt is improperly aligned or worn and needs replacement. Follow the instructions in your owner?s manual (if you don?t have one, contact the manufacturer and ask for one). This job involves removing the access panel, loosening a couple of bolts that hold the blower motor at the proper tension, and realigning or adjusting the belt. In many cases, it?s a good idea to remove it and buy a replacement at the hardware store. When reinstalling the belt, be careful not to over-tighten it--this can wear out the motor bearings.
