Question about Bell Sports Bell Deluxe Patch It Tube Repair Kit

1 Answer

My back tire keeps going flat. I've patched it, replaced it and patched the new one! What is the exact way of placing a tube in a tire and then placing the tire on the rim? I know this sounds pretty basic, but I must be doing something wrong.

You need to determine and eliminate the cause of every flat before repairing it or you may just might have a repeat.

Flat rear tire

two bolts...probably 5/8th socket size need to be loosened to almost off the end of the axle. You will have to release the brake either at the brake grip witch could be a quick release that pushes to the side or at the back brake itself by squeezing the brakes in with your hand and removing the cable. Push the wheel forward and down while pulling the derailer out of the way (extend it backward). Once the wheel is out a tire removal kit works the best (if careful two flat blade screwdrivers work) to not damage the rim, tube further or the tire itself. Position one screwdriver in between the tire and the rim, catch the edge of the tire and pry it outside of the rim (they are pliable so don't worry about damaging). Keep the first driver in place and grab onto a second position on the tire and pry it the same way about 8 inches away from the first. Remove the whole tire on one half and remove the tube. Replace or patch the tube and put back together.

Flat tires

If you have a flat tire before you go to the trouble of taking the tire off the vehicle buy and keep a tire repair kit for tubless tires. If you get a flat, jack up vehicle and find problem with tire. Ninety percent of the time it is a nail in the tire. With tire still on the vehicle pull out nail and follow instructions to put patch in. ( ex. pull nail out. put glue on tool supplied. place in hole. put patch on tool and dunk in glue. Insert patch into hole and twist to insert patch. Cut off excess patch. Your done. Inflate tire. ) This saves you time and money and is as good a fix as you will get at a garage. Good Luck

How many cans of fix a flat can i put in one single tire?

it depends on if you want to be able to fix the tire. the compound in fix-a-flat will keep the patch from sealing inside the tire.
so instead of a $15 repair, it might be a $120 tire.

Have a flat tire and need to find a replacement

The easiest thing to do is go to a local bike shop ... bring the flat inertube to them... If you can bring it to one of the mom and pop stores usually you get better service and they know alot more than the huge retail stores... ie.. Garts.. Dicks.. Scheels.. etc.. they may even be able to patch it up for you .. hope this helps..I know when I need a replacement if I bring the whole bike in they will even put the new tube on the tire for free,,,

I have a tire tube that's punctured. how do i get a new one?

If you walk often, best bet is to just replace the tube as you're going to have to take out the flat tube either way. It's also the fastest rather than trying to patch up a small tube and doesn't guarantee that the repair won't leak air. Small the tube, the expansion/contraction with heat/cold would raise that possibility.

Tubes can be bought even at Wal-Mart and other places for $3. You can always purchase a bicycle tire lever as these 12"/16" tires come off fairly easily. Of course if you absolutely cannot get them off for any reason a bicycle shop will be able to do so.

This is a great video showing how you can replace the tube.

Nail in the tire

Tube or tubeless?

Tubeless ... get some "slime" from the auto parts store. A small bottle will do. Follow the instructions on the container. You might want to get a can of "inflator" but be careful with it.

Tube type ... you can probably patch it. Go to same auto parts place and get a Slime patch (near the slime).

If they dont know what you are talking about ... go to a real auto parts place.

Hope this helps your friend

My front tire keeps going flat do i need a new one, and if so where can i get one and what size do i need. It's a chauffeur mobility scooter.

This could be solved quite easily. Ask your local bicycle repair guy to give you a hand and repair the inner tube. I am sure that he will be delighted to assist you. Happy scooting. Regards Chris… info@mymobility.co.nz

No really. You need to replace the entire walking belt. Not to hard of a job and most replacement belts come with some instructions. We use www.treadmillpartszone.com for parts.

How to repair a flat tire?

hi!

to find the hole, try to fill the tire with air, and put it on a shallow water were it's enough for you to see the bumbles that come out from the tire.

to repair a flat tire, take out the interior of tire and if you happen to see the location of the hole try to find an unused rubber and cover the hole with that rubber and glue it with a quick drying glue... (this is a non-professional work)

Fixing a flat tire

Any bike shop will have patch equipment. You need to deflate the tire and remove it from the wheel. See if there is a tube inside the tire. If so, the fix is easy: either purchase a new tube for the tire, or get a patch. Use modelling glue on the patch then press it continually on the hole on the tire for about five minutes until it is dry. Afterwards, re-insert the tube into the tire, reattach the tire to the rim and pump it back up
