What are the instructions for flashing BIOS?

Hello use auto detect here to find the right mainboard:

http://support.asus.com/download/options.aspx?SLanguage=en

Download asus update, this is the easyest program to upgrade the bios, while windows is running.

Install first asus update:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/System-Tweak/ASUS-Update-Utility.shtml

When the mainboard is found, select download, and select your windows system.
Open the bios folder, and download the latest bios version.
Unzip the bios file.
Run asus update, and select update bios from file, and select the bios file, in the folder you just have downloaded ( the bin file )

Be very carefull when you upgrade the bios, because a power loss will damage the mainboard, while the upgrade process is running.

You also have to setup the bios settings, when the job is done.
You have to select F1 or F2 to enter the settings.

If any doubt download the manual.

Good luck

I need a qflash update for Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG version 42302e31

Hello you can find your mainboard here:

http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/support-downloads.aspx

By entering the mainboard number. (if the mainboard is a gigabyte)

The number is printed in on the mainboard, by the white pci sockets. Just open the case, and look for the number.

When you find the mainboard, select support and download.
Next click on the selection box,to the left, and select bios.
And download the latest bios file.

Good luck

I want to update bios of Asrock 775i65GV directly from winxp .I don't have floppy drive or bootable usb drive.plz let me know how can i update bios without floppy?

Hi, here is some info:

  1. Download the BIOS package (WinZip format with .zip file extension). And close all programs.
  2. Unzip and save all files to the same directory of any storage location accessible by the host system. And you should see AFUWIN.EXE, UCORESYS.SYS, UCOREVXD and UCOREW64.SYS.
  3. Click AFUwin.exe
  4. It shows a dialog icon to remind you to close other programs. Click "OK".
  5. This will upgrade your bios while the system is running
These link wil show you how:

http://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSUI.asp?cat=Windows3

http://www.asrock.com/feature/InstantFlash/index.asp

http://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSUI.asp?cat=DOS

Here you can download the bios:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=775i65GV&o=BIOS

I have to remimd you that: Flashing the bios with a wrong one will make
your mainboard unusefull and it will destroy the mainboard.
You have to be 100% sure its the right one.

Here is a free unzip program:

http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Just click on the exe file for download.

I wish you the best luck.

Need a bios update

To update the Bios, you have to know exactly the Manufacturer, the mainboard model. You have to go to the Mainboard manufacturer Support Site to download the precise Bos file for the mainboard for the update.

A word of advice, updating the bios is not for the "novice" users. There are many precautions you need to heed before doing a bios update. Any errors during Bios update might render your mainboard useless.

I want to install a new bios for my memory but I don't find the update, my actually version is the v6.0 (7/19/06). It's a phoenix awards bios please help me :'(

Correction the bios update is for the Mainboard or motherboard for a PC. It not for the "memory"? To update your Bios you have to to know the precisely the model/brand of your mainboard before you can download the new bios file needed for the update from the manufacturer site.

There are precautions you need to heed before doing a bios update for the mainboard. In case of any eventualities or mistakes you made may render the mainboard useless!! If you are not 100% sure how to do it, get some professional help.

If you Mainboard is running ie with no errors!, it is advisable not to do the bios update unless recommended by the OEM manufacturer or you need to run a new function from the mainboard which is not included in the old bios.

Hope this helps.

Want to updat bios for xp

Operating system doesn't have an effect on the bios update process. Simply you can go online and search for your motherboard's website for BIOS flash utility, and new bios files. And through that website, you can follow the instructed steps and update your BIOS. (For example: Asus Mainboard Model P5GD1 Pro -> Go to Asus international website and select your mainboard model, you can find the tools and updates related with your particular model there). You just have to look up for your mainboard's complete brand and model name first.
