Question about Canon PIXMA MX330 Office All In One All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

The paper in the rear tray is getting pulled in crooked, therefore the paper sometimes rips on the side and the image is not straight. I tried running all the printers tests, and I even found many posts online that said to turn the printer upside down and shake it, that there maybe something lodged inside but I have found nothing, what else could it be?

Had the same problem myself , ONCE. You have to make sure that the paper is completley straight in the feeder. And make sure that the sheet holders are at the right size, ie, Close to the paper, well not close but touching.
You may also have something else in the sheet feeder. Took me a week to sort my problem found out that a pen had got slipped into sheet feeder.
Hope this helps..

Lets try the following

  1. If there is no paper, load a new stack of paper into the paper tray.

  4. Check that the MP tray mode is not chosen in the printer driver.
  5. If the LCD shows Paper Jam message and you still have a problem

  1. Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine.
  2. Use both hands to slowly pull out the jammed paper.
  3. Press the cover release lever to open the front cover
  4. Slowly take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. The jammed paper may be pulled out with the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly, or this may release the paper so you can pull it out of the paper tray opening.

Paper gets folded and jams as the paper gets pulled into the machine from the paper tray below in my image class MFN

clean the roller's with some rubbing alcohol and the paper should go straight, UNless something got stuck in there, Ripped piece of paper might also be the cause, the older the unit the more it needs the rollers cleaned,

Prints crooked

The paper is not being pulled into the printer straight.

There are small sliders that rest next to the paper in the loading tray, you are required to push these so that they slide over and rest directly next to the stack of paper. This will guide the paper into the printer straight so that the paper does not get pulled in crooked.

Crooked copies

Tighten the fences and guides that hold the paper in place. If the paper is not snug in the tray, it will not pull through straight.

Paper feeder is not straight

Push the copy button with the cover up and no paper on the glass. Is the light bar straight up and down, or is it crooked? I can't imagine how paper could go thru the machine crooked, but check it out if you can. If the paper is too thin, it may not be getting grabbed by the rollers right.

Paper feeds through straight at first then scans crooked at the end

This could be because of unclean rollers. The scanner picks paper neat, but images is crooked. This is because paper is stuck on one side and the other side is contnuing on the other, giving it the skew. There may be something sticky on the roller, possibily a left over cellophane tape. Remove it and clean with Isoporpyl alcohol. Dont use solvents.

Printing crooked from one drawer, and no option to print from another drawer

Try this spray on a little WD40 on the GLASS and wipe it off.
Yes, you heard me correctly, make sure you wipe it off leaving no residue, but it's still slippery.
the problem may be coming from the glass being too dry and the paper is getting stuckand shifting.
If the paper itself was going crooked it would get jammed or ripped. There is no room for the paper to go through the path crooked so the only way for it to copy crooked is somewhere in the optics.
try doing 1-2 on the glass itself and see if it copies crooked.
The envelope tray is a By-pass tray and can be used for any size paper. You can switch which tray it copies from on the panel tray button.

2nd side crooked

I would have to say that there must be a same piece of paper touching the paper as it is being feed through the duplex ass'y. The best thing to do is to see if the copy gets tilted toward the front or rear of the copy/ copier. You will be able to find where the obstruction is in the dupex path.
