My Amana side by side refrigirator does not cool. No fan or compressor comes on. Lights work inside. It is just getting warmer. It feels cool on the sheetmetal in back of the fridge.

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

Amana model SXD25QA3W. Not cooling. Compressor runs.

Low on refrigerant which is R 12. EPA has stopped the manufacture of it and it is priced out of sight.
You have a leak and will need it fixed. Compressor is about $300-400 list. You don't want to go there.
Good luck but likely 15-17 years old....... New one ???

Clicking noise + not cold enough

my Amana did the exact same thing. I had a reparman come out and he fixed it. There are 2 reason for it. It is either the compressor that needs to be replaced (about 300-500 to fix) or the relay for the compressor (around 100 to fix). once it is fixed remember to vacuum the coils from the back of the fridge once a year to extend the life of the compressor.

Need help

A removable panel in the rear gives access to the compressor and condenser. Remove the panel and clean out the condenser. Make sure the condenser fan operates when the compressor runs. Restore the panel to its original position for normal operation.

Freezer and Refrigirator not cooling

You didn't say if the compressor is running or not. If it is and all other things you stated are running then it has a sealed system problem. The sealed system comes with a 5 yr warranty in most cases (check owners manual). If the compressor is not running then listen for a click at the compressor. If you hear the click then I would replace the relay on the compressor. If you need further help I will need the complete model # off the sticker inside the fridge section.
