How do I remove the hard drive in Toshiba SatellitePro A10 EN? (Removing the plastic cover exposes only the end of the hard drive. I'm reluctant to just start pulling on it!

  • The original Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 HDD is fitted into a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 Hard Disk Drive cradle - Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 HDD caddy.

      • Gently remove the cradle from the laptop, yes pull on it
      • Unscrew the original Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 Hard Disk Drive & remove it from the cradle.
      • Screw the new Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 Hard Disk Drive into the cradle & refit the cradle into the laptop.
      • Re-install XP or Vista

How to replace Acer Aspire 5630 Hard Drive

The link below gives you the user manual. On the computer views is the base view which will show you the correct bay on the bottom of the computer. You will loosed the screws to that bay, remove the cover andl you will see the hard drive. Althought I have not removed this particular laptop hard drive, these drives usually pull up or back using a tab provided. The hard drive will probably have a cradle the actual drive is connected to. You will have to removed the old drive from this cradle and put the new drive back on the cradle exactly the way the old drive was attached,

I hope that this information helps and gives you a place to start solving your issue.

Ide controller for dell inspiron 2500 laptop

          Any 20GB disk-drive has built-in drive-electronics,
which interface with the IDE hardware on the motherboard of the laptop -- typically, laptops do *NOT* have "plug-in" adapters for such "basic" functions, unlike desktops, where you can change video/audio/network hardware via add-in cards.

You probably can use any disk-drive that is _smaller_ than 32GB -- disks larger than 32GB require newer motherboards, due to the larger capacity of those disks.

          Hard disk doesnot detect

If your hard drive will not be detected, be sure that your hard drive is connected correctly. Check you hard drive if it is plug in the power and the SATA or IDE cable.

Have you experience having trouble by this error, DISK BOOT FAILURE.
This is a hard drive problem witch is not correctly connected.

If your hard drive are correctly connected, try yo first boot your hard drive in the BIOS.

Hope it may helpful for you,,

How to replace the hard drive

first lets get the basics out of the way, did you buy a 2.5" laptop harddrive? Good if you did.

Unplug your laptop, turn it over, remove the battery, find the harddrive cover.

In most dells its on the side

if its on the side like that, remove the screws and in most laptops you have to pull it up to unlock it, now pull it out. some laptops might have a simple pull it out system, you didnt say witch one you have so i cant be sure.

If the hdd is not on the side then its on the bottom

you need to remove the old harddrive from the slot, remove the hdd cradle.

install the new harddrive in the cradle plug it in. put the screws back on.

          Your done.

          Hard Drive Replacement

there are normally 2 panels underneath the notebook, you need to remove one or the other, normally the right hand side and then remove a protection plate and you will see the hard drive located in a metal sleeve holder, althogh you may need to remove the battery and the heatsink fan to get at the hard disk cradle. Simply slide the cradle away from the motherboard and the HDD should slide out.

          Upgrade hd on laptopp

The easiest way is to remove the casing under your laptop and see what make your drive is, but any make of laptop hardrive sould be ok. Sometimes the hard drive may be held in a cradle so you will have to remove it if this is the case and use it with the new hard drive. A problem comes when you probably have the Acer backup/restore folder on another partition(which sometimes includes Windows, as you don't always get a hard windows cd rom),on your current hard drive, so make sure you have a Copy of Windows otherwise You'll have to purchase another Windows installation disc, or clone your drive with something like Norton Ghost.
