Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

The manual for the Canon P1-DHV is online at http://www.usa.canon.com/app/pdf/calculator/P1-DHV_G_USA_HWB.pdf>.

When the display shows "5/4", the calculator is doing 5/4 rounding which means: 5 or above round up, 4 or below round down. To control rounding press the "5/4" key.

When the display shows "E" the calculator could not complete a calculation. It can be because of dividing by 0, or because the total exceeded 1 trillion, or because the operator entered calculations faster than the calculator could complete them. Press the CI/C key to clear it.

I can't explain why you are not getting a total on the tape. Try the following example from the manual exactly as shown, and let me know if your tape shows the total.

- Clear the calculator (press [CI/C])
- Choose 5/4 rounding (press [5/4] until "5/4" displays)
- Choose add mode (press [DEC] until "A" displays)
- Choose cost-sell-margin mode (press [B-T] until "B" displays)
- Turn printer on (press [PRINT] until "PRINT" displays)
- To calculate: $12.55 + $15.75 - $5.30
- Key in: 1255 [+] 1575 [-] 530 [=]
- Tape shows: [0. C] ... [12.55 +] ... [15.75 -] ... [5.30 =] ... [23.00 *]

Hi,

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

goodluck!

Decimal is base 10 and binary is base 2.

The columns from right to left in base 10 are:

10^10 10^9 10^8 10^7 10^6 10^5 10^4 10^3 10^2 10^1 10^0

Similarly, the columns from right to left in base 2 are:

2^10 2^9 2^8 2^7 2^6 2^5 2^4 2^3 2^2 2^1 2^0

This site does a good job of explaining the conversion from decimal to binary.

http://www.math.grin.edu/~rebelsky/Courses/152/97F/Readings/student-binary

For example, take the number 157. The biggest column that goes into 157 is 128, which is the 2^7th column, so we put 1 in that column. Subtracting 128 from157, we get 29. We start all over again. The biggest binary number going into 29 is 16, which is the 2^4th column. When you subtract 16 from 29, you get 13. We start all over again. The biggest binary number going into 13 is 8. Subtracting 8 from 13, we get 5. Biggest number going in is 4, 2^2th column. 1 left over to go into the 2^0 column.

Pulling it all together, we get:

10011101.

Checking, 128 + 16 + 8 + 4 + 1 = 157.

Good luck.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Please add make and model of your machine to question, error 2 can mean different things on different machines. Also you can do an online search in Google with your model number followed by error 2 and it might give you an answer. Hope this helps.

Let's start by setting up the binary columns.

2^0 = 1

2^1 = 2

2^2 = 4

2^3 = 8

2^4 = 16

2^5 = 32

2^6 = 64

2^7 = 128

Written horizontally.

128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1

1 1 1 1 1 1 1

What is the biggest number that goes into 127. 64. Put 1 in the 64s column. 127 - 64 = 63.

What is the biggest number that goes into 63. 32. Put 1 in the 32s column. 63 - 32 = 31.

What is the biggest number that goes into 31. 16. Put 1 in the 16s column. 32 - 16 = 15.

What is the biggest number that goes into 15. 8. Put 1 in the 8s column. 15 - 8 = 7.

What is the biggest number that goes into 7. 4. Put 1 in the 4s column. 7 - 4 = 3.

What is the biggest number that goes into 3. 2. Put 1 in the 2s column. 3 - 2 = 1.

Put a 1 in the 1s column.

So we have 1111111 in binary.

Good luck.

Add the numbers together, then divide by the number of numbers.

For example, to figure the mean of 3, 4, and 5, add 3, 4, and 5 to get 12. Divide by the 3 and get 4. Thus the mean of 3, 4, and 5 is 4.

Add the data together then divide by the number of items. For example, to find the mean of { 3, 4, 5, 6 } first add the four numbers together to get 18, then divide by 4 to get 4.5 .

Simple rule for the temperature setting: The bigger the number, the colder it gets.

5 (or the biggest number on the dial!) is the coldest

1 is the warmest

You need to use an installer code to add/remove sensors. Depending on what number of digits your alarm code is set for will determine the number for the intaller code. Look in the installer manual for the code. Then follow these steps:

Open the panel.

Key in installer coe

Select Add

Select Sensor/Remote

Activate the sensor you want to add. Some sensors have a button, some have to opened to activate.

Choose sensor name and group. Groups are listed in the manual. Basically, if you want the sensor to arm when the doors arm (such as for a window sensor or door sensor) put it in group 10 or 13. If it's a smoke sensor, group 26; motion detector, group 17 and keyfob, group 01.

Press done when finished and run the test to make sure the system is reading the sensor.
