Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

Hp photosmart c6180 saying to "use the introductory cartridges that were shipped with your printer" I have had the printer for a least 3 years and never have had this message before. I have just replaced all the ink with genuine HP ink and still get the message

There should be a button for "ignore and do not display message anymore" on your right hand corner.

And you should not see those bugging message.

And why you buy new cartridge and spend your valuable $$$?

probably the cartridges might be fake check on HP website using the serial number of the catridges to ascertain its authenticity

That is the problem, I suggest you return it and something they will replace it for free. Make sure you get the correct toner part number is this cartridge is not compatible with your printer. Regards

Wrong cartridge : i m asked to replace the with the original ink cartridge that was shipped together when first purhase the printer. The problem is they were already thrown away after used. my...


The printer is asking for the original type of cartridge HP 02 assuming the current cartridge is a different type.

Yup, these printers when they are new need to use the introductory or "primer" cartridges before you can use a set of "normal" cartridges in them. This is a one shot thing.
If the printer is new, call up HP. You may need to provide a receipt via fax, but they should send you a set of these if lets say you purchased a floor (demo) model and these cartridges didn't come with it.

The display says "ink system failure", can't


You will need to disconnect the USB cable and then disconnect the power cord. Now open the cover and take out all print cartridges. Next, close the cover and reconnect your power cord (if printer does not come on automatically, press the power button) Now just open cover and insert your ink cartridges. Make sure the ink cartridges have ink in them and they are not empty.

Introductory cartridges come with the printer and carry special ink formulations intended for printer initialization. During initialization, inks in the introductory cartridges mix with inks in the printer to create a normal ink formulation. After initialization, introductory cartridges can be used in any compatible printer. However, if introductory cartridges that have not been through initialization are installed in a printer that has already been initialized, the printer cannot print

Remvoe all Cartridges, disconnect the printer from the computer and connect it to the direct wall outlet and Reset your Printer to initial factory default settings:-


* Remove the power cord from the back of the product.
* Press and hold down the OK and Help buttons at the same time.
* While still holding the buttons down, plug the power cord into the back of the product.

If the issue persists, perform these steps.

1. With machine powered on, unplug power cord from back of printer and wait for 30 seconds.
2. While holding down the "ok" and "?" buttons, plug the power cord back into the printer.
3. Let the Printer power up again and give it time to go through all of its process.

HP c6280 Won't load ink cartridges


Per HP:
Hold “print photos” button and “red-eye removal” buttons together, release
ø Then press the “red-eye removal” button, release
ø Then press the “print photos” button, release
ø Then press “red-eye removal, release

ø Scroll to “resets menu”, click ok to select
ø Scroll to “Options” semi-full reset, ok

The printer then powers off and wait a couple of minutes. I believe the printer turns back on (or maybe the user needs to power back on after a few minutes). The refills then work.

Not sure of the method but this worked for me.
I have a c6180 & I did the *# 123 to get to ink initialization status, Hit OK and did not confirm.Turned off the printer, it did not turn off. So i unplugged it then plugged it back holding cancel OK & power for about 20 seconds. It then started normal.
