There is cyan ink spread all over the interior and giving an error 10.1004 to reinstall imaging drum

We replaced the drum in Sept. 2010 and printed about 5-6,000 copies before the black and cyan ink ran out. We did not use the Printer since October. We inserted new black and cyan cartriges this week, and then printed bout 20 copies before we noticed that blue ink was appearing on the edges of the documents printed. Today we opened the copier and discovered blue ink all over the inside of the printer, mostly on the cyan cartridge itself.

We have replaced the drum only 4 times in four years, and we have never expereinced the ink issue inside the printer. Additionally, each drum usually lasts a year with heavy office use.

A drum should not last through only 5K in printed ciopies and your explanation that the drum failure caused inlk to spray allk over the insiude does not make sence since this mener occurred beofre when the drum needed replacement. The drums usally lasted a yearwith 50K plus copies being printed.

Additonally, how is the ink to be removed from the inside of the printer?l

Hi

Error message indicates that the toner cartridges are not well place or there is leak on the toner.

I suggest you clean the spilled toner power inside the printer. By removing all the cartridges and use a soft cloth with rubbing alcohol to clean the spilled toner power. Clean roller drum of the toner cartridges and check for posible leakage. If not, replace cyan ink will help you solve your problem and error message will disappear.

Regards and thank you for using fixya.

My yellow imaging unit is on back order, is there anyway to still use the printer until it gets here

Basically -no. If you could get a reset chip for it, you could probably carry on using the original drum for some time. For example http://www.tonerstop.com.au/konica-minolta-bizhub-c353-bundled-set-of-4-compatible-drum-chips

Streaky cyan, grip to back

I'm not sure which model # you have but if it's similar to the 7700 series you can try cleaning the laser window, if that doesn't change the problem it's probably the developer roller.

Where is the Black Polygon Mirror Motor in the bizhub c203

there are four polygon motors in side the print head which is located below each drums, the polygon motor is what spreads LASER beam across the length of the drum with the image. To replace you replace all four yellow, magenta, cyan and black, black in particular because that is the reference color for the color print heads

Please what can I do to work the machine that says fatal error 133;

133 relates to the cyan LED sensor, infact most likey it is the actual Cyan Image drum.
make suer the LED above the Cyan drum is clean, and freely mounted in the spring assembly.
remove and re instal the image drum..
if that does not work, most likely u need a new image drum,Cyan..i bet it is low and due soon for replacement...
good luck

I haxe recently purchased a brand new canon mp530 that is still under warranty.I don't allways have the problem but often enough for it to be one.Adout 90% of the times I try to print I get an error...

I notice that you saw error message 'check ink c'. This means the printer want you to observe cyan ink cartridge. so,what happen before this message appears?. Please make sure that cyan ink is not empty. if you are sure the ink not empty, then remove cyan ink and reinstall it,else try dry clean ink cartridge contact or you may use contact cleaner before reinstall it. if you have have another cyan ink cartridge that is in good condition, compare it. if this works, means cyan ink cartridge is faulty then you need to replace with the new one. but if the problem still persist,it may caused by carriage unit or logic board problem.

Error message after installing new tonner

Check the little switch/door on the left hand side of the drums.
This has worked successfully for me.

Symptom:
After replacement of a C3530 Image Drum, the message, "Toner Sensor Error" is displayed.

0.10a?openelement&fieldelemformat=gif

Cause:
The plastic shutter in the ID is fully or partially covering the toner sensor window.

Resolution:
Move the cover upward to allow for the sensor to become fully exposed prior to reinstalling the drum.

Pages full of toner / toner streaking

First off, this is a comment from a random person who may or may not know ALOT about these printers and toner/printer design in general. All toners are not designed to the same specification. Toner is a combination of plastic "pigment" and iron like shavings to make it magentically attracted to the electrical charges within the unit. Different toners conform to different grades and mainly size of the particles within the blend. The manufacturer doesnt only recommend that you use their toner to make them money, yes of course it makes money, but its because when the unit is designed it is designed to use a certain grade of toner, trust me if you put the non-branded toner vs the branded toner under a microscope you would see quite a difference. Often the non-branded toner is much larger in particle size (obviousely because its cheaper to make at this spec). This causes a variety of issues from excess toner not being cleaned off of developer rollers, IDT rollers, or clogging of toner dispenser tubes in the unit and the micro filters contained at the toner dispenser assy and developer assys. Also as for the issue not changing when switching to dell branded toner - the dispenser tubes within this unit contain up to 500-1000 pages worth of toner, making no change in toner you make immediately visible. Also depending on the damage caused by the previous toner, it may not be able to be fixed until all the components in between the toner and final delivery (drum cart) are replaced. In this case more than likely the toner dispenser assy, all developer assy's, and drum cartridge need to be replaced, and than be sure to stick with factory branded toner :)
