If you have internet at your house on a computer, you can register the password on your router (ask a family member what it is if you don't know) in the settings for "internet. If you have any more questions on it, please just ask.

Dsi tryin to put internet using home pc as access point it says i have security key wrong

When you are searching for the access point on the DSI, make sure you select the correct one as you might pick up a few other access points that will be nearby. Also network keys have a number of letters and numbers in them, make sure you enter it correctly try using block capitals if lower case does not work. Another thing you could do is take the security key of your wireless access point (other people could access the internet using your access point). To take the security key off, just go on your computer and open up an internet browser and type in your IP address into the address bar and enter it. If you are not sure what you IP address is then go to the following website: www.whatismyip.com. At the top of the page you should see your IP address. Type it into the address bar or copy and paste it into the address bar and enter it. When you get to the page you should be able to find the option to remove the security key.

How to connect your Nintendo DSi to the internet

In this guide I will go over the steps you will need to take in order to connect your DSi to the internet. You must first be in range of a wireless access point in order to use it. If you do not have wireless internet at home, you can use local hot spots that do such as coffee shops and school libraries. <br /><br />-Turn on your DSi and click on the wrench icon which will take you to System Settings. <br />-Go to page 3 and select "Internet", and click on "Connection Settings"<br />-Click "None" to the right of "Connection 1"<br />-Click "Search for an Access Point"<br /><br />This will bring up any wireless access points within range of your DSi. Any access points that have a gold lock that is unlocked means this access point does not require a security key. If you are going to use a access point that requires a security key, you will need to enter this key in. <br /><br />-Go back to the "Connection Settings" page and select "Advanced Setup". You will then be prompted for your wireless access point security information. Enter it in here.<br /><br />Okay. You should be connected and ready to enjoy your DSi. Good luck! <br /><br />G33k

as i remeber, the secruity code is the one that you put before you access a locked internet connection and the passes are usally wpa styled password. you should put go to run>cmd>type ipconfig>and find you ip adress and put your ip on you internet explore. if should directly connect you to the router figuration or the log in your adminstrater and go to security tab or it might be diffrent. find your pass and put it on the dsi. hope it helped.

Everytime I try to connect the internet to my dsi it dosn't let me and i never ever get any signal its always red and when it dosn't connect it says to visit support.nintendo.com and it also says...

Turn on the Nintendo DSi then Click on the wrench icon to access "System Settings." Select "Internet" on the third page of System Settings. Select "Connection Settings" and tap the "None" bar in "Connection 1." You have the option of setting up a connection manually, or searching for available connections in the area. The easiest thing to do is select "Search for an Access Point." Your Nintendo DSi will list the names of any wireless access points in range. A gold, unlocked icon next to the connection's name signifies an unlocked WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) connection that can be accessed immediately. A locked gold icon signifies an encrypted WEP connection that requires a WEP key (password).
If you are accessing a locked/encrypted connection, enter your WEP key. You may also click "Change Security Settings" to enter a WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) key. If your WEP key is correct, your Nintendo DSi should connect. You can test your connection to verify. You're set! Now you can surf the Internet, purchase games and add-ons in the Nintendo DSi Shop, and play games that allow wireless access and competition (with WEP connections, only).
Note Most Nintendo DS and DSi owners can get online by searching for an access point, but some might have to resort to manual setup. The Nintendo DSi can go online with a WPA connection, but actually playing DSi games online requires a WEP connection.

Internet connection says not connected

Sorry to hear your having problems with your wii. You can connect the wii via wifi or wired with an adapter. Check out Nintendo's tutorial for instructions on how to do this:
http://us.wii.com/connect/

You basically goto:
Wii Options at the bottom left corner of your home screen, then Wii Settings, Click the right arrow to goto the next page, Click Internet, Click Connection Settings, Click Connection 1, Click Wireless Connection. Click Search for an Access Point. Click OK to view the found access points. Select the Access point for your wireless internet, enter your encryption key, click Ok and then OK again to save settings, and then OK again to test the connection.

If you have done all these setups make sure your selected network and encryption key are correct. If you have an error code search on that error code online.

I have a dsi xl. i have access it in the internet already. my problem is if keep saying point in range.one more thing i have the nintendo points cards but i dont know where to enter it?

To use the nintendo points, tap the dsi shop icon. It will take you to where you can buy games. Different games cost different amounts of points, some are free, some cost 500+ points. Select the option the buy the game(s) you want, it will prompt you for the Nintendo points card number at checkout, and will deduct those points, and download the game. You have to enter the card number each time you buy a downloadable game, it does not store the points value (at least it didn't as of December 2010).
You can go into settings, and set the dsi to connect if access point in range, and it will just connect when you choose internet. If you mean the access point says it's in range, but won't connect to the internet, you probably need to check to make sure you entered the SSID (name) correctly, the password correctly, and which type of encryption correctly (WEP, WPA PSK, etc). If you save the correct settings, and are in range, it will connect.

What is a security key it says unable to connect to the access point.Check that the correct security key has been entered

The security key is the password that protects your internet from other people connecting to your internet connection. To find out what your secuity key is there are three things you can do.
1. Check the back of your router, The security key is usually printed on there.
2. If it is not on the back of your router and are not very good with a pc or laptop contact your internet service provider they can usualy tell you the key.
3. If you are good on a computer and it is connected to the internet connection you want to use, turn it on then once everything is loaded a signal bar should appear in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. left click on that and a pop up box should appear. Right click on the network you use and click on status. Another pop up box should appear with your network settings, Click on the button that says wireless properties. Another pop up box will appear and at the top of the box click security. There should then be your security key but it will be hidden like a password. At the bottom there should be a check box that says show characters, tick that box and your security key should appear.
hope this helps

I want to get onto internet on my nintendo dsi but it keeps saying unable to connect to access point error code 051100-1

Error Code: 051100 The WEP key for the Access Point you are attempting to connect to has changed since you last connected.
What to do: Verify the Access Point's WEP Key is entered correctly into the Nintendo DS. If your router has slots for more than one WEP key, the first (#1) must be the one selected on your router. If you need assistance, click here and select your router manufacturer and model number. If available, our router pages can provide specific steps and information that may help you with your router's WEP Key.
If you have multiple connection files saved to your Nintendo DS, the error message you received can help determine which connection file may be experiencing a problem:
  • Errors ending in 0 = connection file 1
  • Errors ending in 1 = connection file 2
  • Errors ending in 2 = connection file 3
  • Errors ending in 3 = Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector
