You didn't tell us the make and model of your camera so I can only give you a generic answer. On most cameras, there is a button with a lightning bolt icon. Press it and watch the screen...when you see a lightning bolt with a diagonal line through it, the flash is off.

How do you turn off AE/AF Lock on a Nikon D90?

You may download a copy of the manual from here.

By default the AE/AF Lock only holds while you hold down the AE/AF Lock button on the back of the camera. If you've changed the configuration so that this button locks the AE/AF, you can unlock it either by pressing the button again or by turning the camera off and on again.

Touch [MENU] to bring up the menu. Touch [REC] to enter the recording menu. Touch [FLASH] to enter the flash menu. To turn the flash off, select "Forced Flash: OFF" (lightning bolt in a circle with a slash through it).
The flash menu is described on page 66 of the advanced manual.

Some how we have deactivated the flash to our fuji fine pix S700 digital camera and now the flash wont pop up or do anything can you help

I have looked on this site for the manual for your camera
http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/manuals/
However, as you will see when you go to this site, your camera model is not listed. Are you sure the model number is correct?

Without the model number, I can say generally, that digital cameras have a menu button that has many options in it which includes setting the flash to Auto or On or Off. Explore your camera options a little and I'm sure that you will find these options.

Good luck to you and Thank You for using FixYa.

Flash not working on panasonic lumix fz7

Go into menu, setup function, turn OFF "conversion lens" or anything like that. NOTE: a conversion lens is a lens that screws onto front of lens of your camera and the flash would get blocked by it, so there is a function in the menu that turns the flash off when a conversion lens is attached to the camera. If this works, STOP PLAYING AROUND WITH THE MENU TILL YOU READ THE MANUAL. LOL.

Did you try to reinitialize? Setup menu go down to the third Setup#1 menu and make sure you click OK to reinitialize. That's what the manual said.
