I returned a video camera because it was not complete and also faulty. I am having trouble logging on because PaPal never remembers my pass words and keeps making renew my pass word. It must be costing a fortune on the phone.I have been assured that there is nothing wrong with the account or bank account. I don't know where my money is and cant get a sensible answer, David Rickard ( Which Mag Writer.)

How to file a dispute against the Seller using PayPal

Prepare all PayPal transaction info regarding your dispute, particularly the PayPal transaction ID. Note, this is ONLY for transactions made from PayPal's website, this is not applicable for all other payment transactions made over the internet.

Follow this simple steps in filing a claim / dispute against the seller from PayPal.

Click here and log in to file a dispute, if that didn't work, use this web address:

https://www.paypal.com/ca/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/Customer/customerservice/GXOLogin-outside&from=resolution_center&toResCtr=true&fileWhat=claim

After logging in, you should see this page:
19945b8.jpg

.. click on that yellow button saying "Dispute a Transaction". You will see this page after clicking that button:
2832e9a.jpg

.. select item dispute and click the yellow button saying "Continue".
After that, you'll be taken to this page:

c268c54.jpg

If you have the transaction ID prepared, type it on the box provided, if not, you can search for it by clicking the "Find transaction ID" button and select the specific transaction ID from your PayPal transaction history.

When your PayPal transaction history pops out, make sure it captures the date from when you made the transaction, see from the sample below, my history is showing only all of my activities from January 12, 2010 to today, February 11.

93d0da7.jpg

Once you find the specific transaction, click on the Transaction ID and it will take you back to this page with the Transaction ID already in the textbox..
69fa6e3.jpg

.. all you need to do is click that yellow button saying "Continue".

And from there, you will be asked 1 or 2 more questions which you have to answer by selecting the appropriate option applicable to you, so you can finalize the dispute.

Note that this dispute does not guarantee that your money will be given back to you. PayPal will freeze your seller's account until your problem is resolved forcing them to return your money. However, if the seller decides to close the specific account, that's not gonna be good for you, you will totally loose the money that you paid but the dispute that you filed will damage his/her credit track record, because as you know, PayPal is linked to our our credit cards and/or bank accounts.

Good luck!

How do I complete a buying transaction without a paypal account number to give the seller or how does it work ?

Paypal accounts consists of a username and password to enter your paypal account. And that account is tied to an email address, bank account and sometimes a paypal credit or debit card if you choose. but you usually log on with the email address associated with the paypal account and the password that you have set up for that purpose. Now, if you are just purchasing from a vendor who is using paypal to accept their payments, you can use a credit card to complete the transaction.

1) First, hopefully you completed the whole transaction with the seller USING the actual paypal application. If you decided to buy it by just emailing the seller without paypal that is why the transaction is not there and the seller deleted his account.
Ebay does caution against doing it without using paypal.

2) If you did buy and pay for item throught paypal, it sounds like the seller deleted his account and does not want to refund your money or ship your item.

If #2 is the situation, Go to the actual transaction or Activity on your paypall account and get ALL the information you can on the sale. Item #, description, Seller information, etc.

Log into your paypal account and choose My Account
scroll to the bottom and click "contact us"
a page will open and you can either call PayPal or look in "Find Answers by Topic" and report FRAUD or Report a Problem.

try that and Ebay will be able to search their records and find this seller if it is fraudulent.

Hope this helps.

My computer logged out during transaction.

Why do I have duplicate authorizations for a single purchase?

Question :
Answer :
A Several things can contribute to PayPal receiving duplicate authorizations for a single transaction. The main reason is the merchant submits the card number more than once. The merchant can run the card number again if they receive a message that indicates no response. This happens when a response is given but the merchant doesn't receive it within the allotted time frame.

You may see a duplicate transaction when a merchant sends in the final charge with information different from the original preauthorized charge. This results in a pending authorization and a completed transaction from the same merchant.

The duplicate authorization expires on the fifth day after the charge. A credit added back to your PayPal account balance.
