Question about Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

Hi! Our dear friend - Jura Impressa F90 - is "stuck". It started making coffe: it grinded and then suddenly the tray was pushed out ab.1 cm and now there is only some part hanging down inside (I cannot describe it better, is there a possibility to send a pic?). Now nothing works. It only says "Tray missing" (as it cannot be pushed back). Thanks for any help!

    Hi,

Unfortunately this is not the solution in this case. As I wrote - the tray does not go inside - it's ab. 1 cm outside.

I have sent the machine to repairs.

If the machine says TRAY MISSING it's the contacts at the back so clean as other people have stated, you can also use a cardboard nail file to clean the contacts at the back if there really skanky!.

sounds like the interlock is dirty . It's probably safe to give it a good soaking (unplugged) to get any coffee residue shifted.Give it a good scooshing at the base where the sticky out bit on the tray enters the base.

Also try out this .On the right side inside you can see a small slot. Try using a screw diver or something to click this small micro switch, if the message disappears, then you need to check your tray and see if something is broken. You can also try to move a little on the tray when it`s in the machine. However if clicking on the micro switch does not help, you need to have this switch replaced in a service center

dont use the microwave until you retrieve what dropped inside when you removed the port. The grinding is most likely a foreign object that is hitting the moving parts of the microwave and causing sparking. It can catch fire

You should Clean and dry the metal contacts on the back of the drip tray, ensuring that the gap between the contacts is clean and dry (if present, contacts not on all JURA models) Make sure that the plastic in between the contacts is clean

It seems withthis model you have a 1 year or 4000 cups warranty with this.
If you are within this, then give them a call - here is the Manual if you don't have it -
MANUAL -

I suggest you start by removing the beans in the hopper and wiping around to remove oils.
Then refill with fresh dry beans.
Plug in and set up as normal
Set to brew a standard large cup - and adjust grinder to coarse setting while grinding.
Do not adjust with grinder quiet - it must be done while rotating.

Make at least 10 cups this way at the coarse setting.

I think what has happened is that damp beans (frozen or cold) have entered the unit and caused the coffee to gum up at the top of the burr.
This will just push fresh beans out of the way instead of starting to grind them.

If you use dry (light loast) beans, it doesn't seem to happen as much.

Just ake sure you refrigerate most of your stocks, but keep a small stock at room temperature in an airtight tin to prevent this kind of thing.

You can actually push down on the bean stack slightly with a wooden object while the grinder is running if nothing moves on the coarse setting to get things moving.
