Message constant check screening. screening is clean how do i fix

The sensor is located inside the plenum where the screen slides into. It will be a small metal probe sticking out to measure temperature in the cavity. Make sure the big metal hose coming off the back of the dryer is clear as well as the vent flap leading to the outside before you go tearing the dryer apart. If no airflow paths are blocked the sensor is likely bad. They almost all fail in the safest condition to prevent vent fires. Sensors are cheap and can be purchased online fairly cheap.

Dryer starts , the gas lights and stays on for about 30 bseconds and turns off the dryer stays running without heat. How can I fix this?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

This is usually caused by a failed flame sensor PN 338906. Loss of a flame sensor signal (open) will cause the gas valve to shut off in 30 - 42 seconds

How to test the flame sensor:
  • Remove the front panel
  • Open the top panel
  • Leave the drum & belt the way they are, work around them and be careful NOT to get the belt idler pulley disconnected
  • Disconnect the wires from the flame sensor
  • Set your multimeter to read ohms
  • Take a reading between the 2 terminals on the sensor. The reading should be close to 0 ohms but for sure under 1,600 ohms 3 wire type and 500 - 600 ohms for the 2 wire type.
  • If the reading is infinity, the sensor must be replaced

If you can reach the flame sensor through the gas burner access (if so equipped / depending on model) it is even better because you don't have to open the dryer up.

Just note there are 2 types of flame sensor out there. One has 2 terminals and one has 3 terminals. the links below are for the 2 terminal flame sensor.

First of all shut off the power by pulling out the plug.

If you are sure of the sensor issue then you need to remove four screws on the inside of the door. Two screws are located on the left and two on the right, look at the hinge and you will find two. The door will lift out when you remove the screws. When the screws are out of the front, the front panel can be remove by pulling on the outside surface.

Fault #3 Drum Stalled; unable to move.
  1. Check drum movement mechanisms: belt, motor and motor harness (if motor moves drum slightly, treat as fault #2)
  2. Replace the motor control module.
  3. Replace the motor.

Fault #2 Drum Gap Cannot be Located
  1. Ensure sensor module is correctly located and clipped in.
  2. Replace the lens on the sensor module.
  3. Replace the sensor module.
  4. Remove Top Deck and clean the sensing bumps on the outside of the drum end.
  5. Replace the drum.

Andeb, 90% of the time long dry times are caused by blocked vents. If you are sure that this is not the case there are a couple of things to check. First check the sensor; press the more time button and less time button 4 times until 88 shows in the display.(more time, less time, more time, less time). Open the door and you will hear a beep and a see a code. On the inside just below the vent screen is the moisture sensor. Moisten your finger and lay it across the sensor strips covering both. If you hear a beep, the sensor is good. Sometimes they build up with fabric softner and need to be sanded lightly. Another issue might be the burner coils. Remove the bottom panel and check to see that the burner is igniting and remaining lit. Sometimes these coils become week and will not sustain the flame. I will attach a diagram, look at number 13 and 14 on the picture. These are the coils. Catriver..post back.
