Error e0610096 in canon 1140
The Service manual say:
E061 is an error code associated with the mechanism controlling the surface
potential of the drum, and points to the following:
(The notation "xx" of detail code indicates the color of the developing
assembly; e.g., xx=01: M, xx=02: Y, xx=03: Y, xx=04: Bk.)
Detail code: 0096
Description: Vd2 is 550 V or less.
Possible cause: The Vd2 lower limit is reached
Step 1
Checks: Is the setting of
COPIER>ADJUST>V-CONT-M/C/
Y/K in service mode identical to the
settings recorded on the service label?
Yes/No: NO
Action: Enter the settings from
the service label newly.
Step 2
Check the detail code in service
mode (COPIER>DISPLAY>ERR).
Is it 0000 or 0001? YES Go to step 3.
Is it 0010? YES Go to step 4.
Is it 0020? YES Go to step 5.
Is it 0030, 0031, or 0032? YES Go to step 9.
Is it 0040? YES Go to step 12.
Is it 0050, 0051, 0052, or 0053? YES Go to step 16.
Is it 0070, 0071, xx80, or xx81? YES Go to step 19.
Is it 0060 or 009x? YES Go to step 20.
Step 3: Potential sensor unit
Checks:
Turn on and off the power switch.
Does LED1 on the potential
measurement PCB remain on
during potential control?
NO - Replace the potential sensor unit.
YES - Check the wiring from the
DC driver PC to the potential
sensor. Turn off and then on
the power switch; if the error
is indicated once again, go to
step 2.
Step 4: Pre-exposure lamp
Checks:
Does the pre-exposure lamp turn
on during copying operation?
NO - Check the wiring from
the DC driver PCB to
the pre-exposure lamp;
if normal, replace the
pre-exposure lamp.
YES - Check the potential
sensor unit. Turn off and
then on the power switch;
if the error is indicated
once again, go to step 2.
Step 5: Primary charging assembly
Is the primary charging assembly
connected properly?
NO - Connect the assembly
properly.
Step 6: Primary charging assembly
Is the primary charging wire
broken or soiled?
YES - Clean or route the charging
wire once again. Turn off and
then on the power switch; if
the error is indicated once
again, go to step 2.
Step 7: Primary charging assembly
Are there traces of leakage on the
primary charging assembly?
YES - Replace the primary
charging assembly.
Step 8: High-voltage cable
Is there electrical conductivity
from the primary charging wire to
the high-voltage transformer
(HVT-DC)?
NO - Check the primary highvoltage
cable.
YES - Replace the HVT-DC
PCB. Turn off and then
on the power switch; if
the error is indicated
once again, go to step 2.
Step 9: HVT-DC PCB
Is the primary charging assembly
fitted properly?
NO - Fit the assembly
properly.
Step 10: Primary charging grid plate
Is the grid plate of the primary
charging assembly mounted
properly?
NO - Mount the grid plate
properly.
Step 11: High-voltage cable HVT-DC PCB
Is there electrical continuity from
the grid plate of the primary
charging assembly to the highvoltage
transformer (HVT-DC)?
NO - Check the grid highvoltage
cable.
YES - Replace the HVT-DC
PCB. Turn off and then
on the power switch; if
the error is indicated
once again, go to step 2.
Step 12: Post-cleaning charging assembly
Is the post-cleaning charging
assembly fitted properly?
NO - Fit the assembly
properly.
Step 13: Post-cleaning charging assembly
Is the post-cleaning charging wire
broken or soiled?
YES - Clean or fit the charging
wire properly.
Step 14: Post-cleaning charging assembly
Are there traces of leakage in the
post-cleaning charging assembly?
YES - Replace the postcleaning
charging
assembly.
Step 15: High-voltage cable
Is there electrical continuity from
the post-cleaning charging
assembly to the high-voltage
transformer (HVT-DC)?
NO - Check the post-cleaning
high-voltage cable.
YES - Replace the HVT-DC
PCB. Turn off and then
on the power switch; if
the error is indicated
once again, go to step 2.
Step 16: Laser exposure system
Is the movement of the laser shutter
normal?
NO - Check the shutter
assembly
Step 17: Laser exposure system
Is the dust-proofing glass or the
bending mirror soiled?
YES - Clean it.
Step 18: Laser exposure system
Is the laser power normal? (See the
descriptions given for how to adjust
the laser power.)
NO - Adjust the laser power.
If output is absent,
replace the laser unit or
the laser driver.
YES - Check the
photosensitive drum for
grounding; if normal,
replace the
photosensitive drum.
(After replacement,
execute the work under
II. C. 2.)
Turn off and then on the
power switch; if the
error is indicated once
again, go to step 2.
