Belt turns freely on my dc07 but brush dosent go round got it off my friend looks like someone has had it in bits before and not put it back together properly

Most DC07 models have a clutch that switches the brushroll off and on. These models have two belts in the clutch assembly. If either belt is broken or stretched the brush roll won't spin properly. Installing a new clutch is the best way.

How to remove clutch on dyson dc07

This service is hard to explain. Try googling it so you watch a video of how it is done. You can purchase belts and rebuild the clutch with the new belts or you can purchase a new clutch with belts already installed

My husband got a 18"

1. There is probably a hook type affair on the back of the trimmer that you are supposed to route the extension through to keep the plug from falling out.
2. I would never do what I am going to tell you for safety reasons. It is possible to get a piece of cord, a tie wrap or a hose clamp, adjust it to fit over the trigger and around the handle so that when you pull the trigger, you slip this tight fitting device over it and it keeps it held in tightly enough so you don't have to keep your hand on it. Be advised that this is dangerous in that if you drop the trimmer or hit the electric cord, the trimmer will continue to run uncontrollably until you can get to the power, slip the device off of the trigger or the trimmer cuts the electric cord.
It can be done, but as you can see, it can be very dangerous. These things can amputate fingers.

Cut through the cord on the hedge trimmer how do i fix it

You need to replace the entire cord. It is not safe to try and repair the cord.I would call the dealer where you purchased the trimmer and see if they have the part or can aleast tell you where to get it.

How should I troubleshoot the brush roller not rotating?

Take the sole plate off and check for blockage and check and make sure the brush is turning freely I suspect the brush is clogged and the soleplate is obstructed. Check the hose for any obstructions as well.

Your problem could be the clutch unit what has probably happened is either the clutch plates are warn, or the 3 balls in the clutch have warn a large grove in there fixing plate or the plastic hub that the brush roller to clutch belts runs on has melted this hub melting is the most common of all clutch faults.
There are no spares available for repairing the clutch other than the motor to clutch belt & the clutch to brush belt.
There are 2 belts that need to be checkd also to make sure they aren't broken. Here is a diagram to helpdcramer531_1.jpg

Reinstalling beater bar... making a noise like its not in the correct slot.

Getting the sole plate back on correctly and the beater brush in the correct slot should help. The clucth is engaging and keeping the motor from overheating is the noise you are hearing.

bearings in the brushroll might be siezing. If you start snapping belts, change the brushroll. the roller brush that most likely needs to be cleaned, clean the hair from the brush and under the belt and make sure the bar is positioned in the vacuum properly and turns easily. I need a manuel to replace a broken fan on my g4 kriby

Hello,

We have actually recorded a very informative do it your self video on how to replace the fan on a Kirby Generation upright.

The video is a two part video, but this explains step by step how to remove the old fan, and put the new one on.

If you need to purchase a new fan assembly, here's a link to the Fan assembly for your Kirby G4. Unfortunately you may only purchase them as a complete assembly:
Genuine Kirby Vacuum Fan. Kirby Part # 119096S

Here's the videos showing how to replace the fan:

Part 1:

Part 2:

Hopefully this helps you with your problem! If this did help, please be so kind and rate the repair, or leave feedback for me. This is very appreciated by the Fixya community when someone is able to answer your question, and assures that experts continue to answer free questions, instead of just the premium paid questions.

Thanks again!

Hello. I took the sole plate of to clean the brushes on my dyson dc14 however the brush part came out and i put it back in but since then whenever i switch it over to carpet setting it makes this really...

You really need to take the sole plate back off and make sure the belt is running exactly where it's supposed to go and not looped over a piece of plastic or anything. More important is that you make sure the ends of the brush are seated properly and the bearings the brush is mounted to are clean and rotate freely. Look at each component and make sure they are assembled perfectly. Make sure a plastic ring or piece that goes on the end of the brush didn't get dropped under a piece of furniture and you forgot about it. If the problem keeps happening, take the brush and belt back out and carefully turn the machine on to see if it makes the sound. If it doesn't make the sound with the brush out, the problem is with the brush assembly. If it does make the sound, the clutch that turn the brush on and off is damaged and needs to be replaced. You can order a new clutch assembly and replace it without much trouble. They want you to think you can switch between floor and carpet settings all the time but it's really really stressful on that clutch to switch between settings with the motor running. Think about how powerful that motor is. Think about the poor unassuming brush assembly being jerked to life by that powerful motor running at full speed. I've seen that destroy a clutch in about two years. Anyway, it's much better for the life of your dyson to turn the motor off when you switch to carpet mode (when you turn the brushes on). You probably don't have to bother turning off the motor when turning the brushes off, or switching to bare floor mode, because it's not that stressful on the mechanism to just disengage the running motor.

Dyson DC14 Animal Vacuum - terrible loud noise

What I found was that it is the roller brush. If you are willing to get a little dirty and do it yourself, there is the roller brush that most likely needs to be cleaned. After a little tinkering of my own, the roller brush can be slipped out or just shift it out of place to clean it. There are two ends to the roller brush and the brush itself. Of you twist the two ends until the come apart you would probably find a lot of hair and other long strand items wrapped around the rod that goes through the brush. Once you clean that out it should work like new. If that does not work then it is probably the clutch which is what the belt around the roller brush is connected to. Hope this helps, it is a simple solution.
