Samsung Microwave Oven Model smh918713 beeping

You may need to replace the keypad. I found there was moisture causing the problem when we boiled water on the right side of our stove which is under the keypad. I let the microwave dry out for several days and now only use the left side of stove when we boil water and have not had the problem.

Door will not open

Put right hand on lower section of the door to the right, "crevice" with the left hand press the button to open the door at the same time pull gently to moderate this will release the door in some cases, even if this works you will need someone to check it out.

Painter has left small line of white vinyl matt emulsion (from ceiling -no masking tape used ) along the top left hand edge of the new stainless steel cooker hood - out of eye line but visible. how can I...

Luckily, vinyl matt emulsion paint is water based and is fairly easy to remove. Use half a wooden garden washing line peg or similar piece of softwood with s mild solution of washing up liquid. The wood will rub the paint off the metalwork and the washing liqid will lubricate without the metalwork so not to damage it.
Hope this helps.

Does not show any power - is there a fuse that i can check or replace

the only safe one you can try is the one in the plug,, witch you have done, yes? if you open the unit up and put your hand in you may just kill yourself, there is at least 1000 volts kicking about inside the unit and it can and will kill out right,
apart from that the only fuses inside it are not normal size there slow blow fuses and very short at that, the very hight power fuse is beep inside the unit put your hand in at your peril,,,its your life your playing with, but think of it this way, how much is it worth in £????
call a guy in to fix it

How do i adjust the power level?

Hi Cindeet,

(I just responded, but it doesn't show-up - - my apologies if this comes thru twice).

Looking at the brochure at

http://www.geappliances.com/products/introductions/advantium/downloads/advantium_brochure.pdf

on page 4, there's a control panel with the "Power/Temp" button - try pressing this, then using the knob to select the power level you want.

There's also a "Help" function - - upper right-hand side of the control panel.

Let me know how this worked for you - thanks in-advance.

Panasonic microwave...

Without HV test equipment it is quite difficult to determine if it is the magnetron or inverter.

5 years is a little short for magnetron failure but it appears that this is about all you can expect these days from a magnetron - the best I have seen was 11 years. I have not seen an inverter failure as yet (although I am not a full time repair man). The main reason I suspect it is the magnetron is the short time period from start to stop - it is typical of magnetron failure in Panasonic microwaves.

As regards door hinge side, that is one of the great unknowns. I suspect it comes from most people being right handed but even refrigerators could be specified as right/left hand hinged originally and now can be changed by customers.

Microwave ovens

The cover is probably the magenetron. That is where the microwaves come from. If the bread was moist, it might have left condensate in the unit which is causing the sparking. Unplug the unit, leave the door open over night. If you can remove that cover, do so. Be sure to carefully replace it before using the unit. Never turn on a microwave with nothing in it.
