Question about Ubi Soft Assassins Creed: Brotherhood - Windows

1 Answer

I have an older hp laptop(dv7-3079wm) and i play Assassin's Creed Brotherhood on it and i dont have any problems whats so ever. i got myself a new laptop like 2 months ago, its a (dv7-4073nr), so basically i cant play the game on the new laptop. it always lags, as if the cpu isnt fast enough for this game. i turned down all the graphics very low, downloaded all recent downloads from windows update, checked all my drivers to make sure their up to date. i even restored my laptop to manufacturers default settings, and i still cant play the game. can you please help me????? thanks in advance

Sounds like you went from xp to vista...try installing a second partition with xp or win has a known problem of doubling video memory in the system if your running vista on a laptop, you are straining the system from the get go
vista seems fast, for a little while

the only other thing that i can think of would be your power settings.. having had WIn7 in the past, you should be familiar with the battery icon in the bottom right tool bar.....set your system to high performance and try your game again....

    PLS respond to this post

i've tried that and im still having problems playing it. very choppy, the sound goes out for like 5sec, then comes back, freezes up for like a split sec, then comes back. the only thing im thinking is that it has to do something with the processors. can you please help??

unfortunately it does more than likely mean the onset of a likely catastrophic failure of your CPU. Although you say you have a dual core, unless you are familiar with that model cpu's production method, there is no way of knowing if the cores used are the only ones that survived the build process or if the others where simply disabled. This may sound like greek, but if you mention it to the support dept, they should have atleast a minimal understanding. the only thing left to do would be to run a bench test to see how your system handles........a bench test will simply load your memory and processor to its max and check the memory for recall
is a link to a good free product.....just run a blended test, and even if it all works out, you should contact your warranty provider ( and request a replacement due to lack of performance while within the guidelines of the products manufactured specifications

in respects to my previous comment, "Although you say you have a dual core, unless you are familiar with that model cpu's production method, there is no way of knowing if the cores used are the only ones that survived the build process or if the others where simply disabled." Your i7 is a quad core processor with a potential of 6, but the same concept applies, cores are disabled in any processor not at max core rating

You can start with either one. I really enjoyed AC II and am looking at buying AC III very soon.

Assassin's Creed III

Capturing a sense a serious amounts of place has always been central towards appeal of each Assassin's Creed. If the dusty streets of Masayaf, the c**** veined archipelago of Venice or even the sun baked Constantinople, everyone of Ubisoft's chosen settings has been designed with such a level of authenticity and historical accuracy (albeit twisted because of their narrative purposes), which it's quite normal you just read stories of tourists having the capacity to make their way around Rome simply from having memorised the map in Brotherhood.

It's hardly surprising then that with Assassin's Creed III Ubisoft have absolutely nailed a recreation of 18th century revolutionary America. It's a sprawling land of open forest, bustling colonial cities and epic naval warfare, loaded with wildlife, frontiersmen and Redcoats. Many techniques from the lengthy reload animation of the period musket, towards the recognisable compacting crunch of jumping though waist high snow may be meticulously designed: not since Red Dead Redemption's Wild West comes with an American frontier been so fully realised and engrossing.

The burgeoning wooden structures of Boston and New York play much like the brick tiled buildings of Europe, albeit after a little less verticality and wider streets. However it's from the forested areas that people understand why Ubisoft think worthy of another numbered entry in the series, rather than a subtitled sequel. The pine-valleyed frontier is usually a technical and visual marvel, and whilst there's a little too much conveniently angular geometry operating in the series' trademark free running gameplay, it's varied enough to weave a convincing illusion. The width, depth and breadth on the " new world " can be a grand ambitious statement of intent from Ubisoft - this really is their American epic.

I have a brand new assassin's creed brotherhood game that freezes right after one of the first missions (target practice with the cannons). it is brand new no scratches or anything, i don't know...

Occasionally, games will just have a software problem. There's nothing that can be done about this. Just go back to where you bought it and exchange it for a new copy. The new copy shouldn't have the same problem. Sorry you got a bad copy, it's a bummer.
