The first thing I'd try is to reinstall the sound drivers.

If you want more specific answers, you'll need to post details about the system like the manufacturer and the model, and what operating system the computer runs

My Alienware M11X R2's screen broke completely off. I thought I could just hook up an HDMI cable and use the base with a monitor but it keeps beeping... and the video wont show up on the monitor.

Do you mean that the hinges broke and the screen is no longer attached to the laptop. I googled ' Alienware M11X R2 screen' and one of the first results is a story from PC World which contains:

"Dell will repair broken hinges on any Alienware M11x system for any R1 or R2 customer worldwide regardless of warranty status," wrote Dell's John Blain, in a blog entry on the company's website.

How i broke system administrater password

By the sounds of things you are being asked for a Windows password. If this is the case, you can download and burn Offline NT Password & Registry Editor (Formerly Peter Nordahl's Password Reset). Reboot your computer and boot from the CD (just follow the on-screen instructions.

It can be found here: http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

If it is not a Windows password, it is likely a BIOS password (if it shows up as soon as you boot up).
This is typically removed by unseating the CMOS battery (small silver circular battery) or by jumping a connection. To do this you have to take the laptop apart. For further instructions see the service manual from the manufacturer.

If it is neither a Windows or BIOS password then the hard drive has a password on it. This means the hard drive will have to be replaced if you can't guess the password. Replacing the hard drive means you will need to re-install the operating system and all the drivers.

I am trying to fix a power problem on a medion laptop. When you press the power button, the power led lights up but nothing else happen. The laptop does not start. Any help.

Hi,

When you turn on the system and NO BEEP sound it could be a problem with the system board that fails initialize and boot your system to the operating system. If you hear a beeping sound, you may need to reseat the memory card of your system.

Keep me posted.

Thanks.

Laptop fell from 3 foot high shelf. Display is barely visible now, can see it but only if direct light is shone at an angle.

It sounds like you broke the backlight in the display. You will need to replace the LCD screen.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

Hi my pc isnt playing any sound, iv gone into the control panel and its showing me there isnt a sound driver applied to my computer when iv tried to apply one it wont let me, does this mean my sound card...

-Maybe one of the cause that you can't install the sound driver is because there is a sound driver currently installed on the system that is corrupted .
-Try to uninstall first under device manager and reboot system then reinstall the sound driver.
-After this steps you still can't install the driver, check if the current sound driver that you are trying to install is compatible driver for your system.
-Check manufacturer website for system specification.

on page 343 it gives your ways for you to contact samsum world wide.. look for the number in your continent or possibly your country... be ready for having to send the system to another country depending your actual location

http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200605/20060524094118640_R55_manual.pdf

I have no clue where auckland is (this is the internet not your neighborhood and forgive me for flunking neighborhood geography of the world... I'm just kidding.. but I think you got my point)

good luck!

Screen is blank unless a flashlight is shown on the screen. Prior to this happening laptop was dropped and the left hinge broke off. Could something else have broken off?

sounds like the backlight system of your screen is broken. You may have to take it to a laptop repair shop, preferably an authorized service center to have it fixed
