KevinWhiteJA : if you have opened the door its located inside on the door jamb Customer: Instruction manual doesn't tell me Customer: is that the E-nr? KevinWhiteJA : Yes Customer: WKD28540GB/03 KevinWhiteJA : You can reset the control by pressing and holding the START/PAUSE button for around 20 seconds to see if the error disappears Customer: I'll give that a go KevinWhiteJA : E01 error is a door lock error Customer: i know Customer: door seems fine KevinWhiteJA : however, it is not always due the bad door lock KevinWhiteJA : you can also check the drain pump filter located inside the bottom front of the unit Customer: it sounds like it's trying to drain KevinWhiteJA : if the problem returns after cleaning this then you will have to use warranty and get the door lock checked KevinWhiteJA : Yes something might be stuck in there Customer: how do I get to drain pump filter? KevinWhiteJA : Please check page#18 of this User Manual ... http://www.washingmachine-manual.com/manuals/bosch/Bosch_WKD_28540.pdf Customer: Ok got that KevinWhiteJA : User Manual and let me know how it goes
KevinWhiteJA : looking at the age of your washer the door lock should be fine

Customer: Nothing blocking the filter. It's fine. Now I've drained out the bit of water it doesn't sound like it's trying to drain any more but we still gave E-01 KevinWhiteJA : ok, what about the door ?
Customer: It is giving the same error whether I try a wash cycle or dry cycle Customer: door seems OK but I can only open it using the emergency release Customer: pressing the start/pause button for 20 secs doesn't clear the error KevinWhiteJA : ok the problem is either with the door lock or control itself
KevinWhiteJA : as it is still under warranty so you can use it and get the interlock mechanism replaced
Customer: Thought it might be something simple I could fix but seems not. Thanks for trying, KevinWhiteJA : We already tried the simple things...unfortunately that is what the error code indicates ... sorry about the bad news
Customer: Looks like I need 'a man' after all!! Customer: goodnight KevinWhiteJA : You can get back to me if you need any assistance and I will help with no additional charges.....Is there anything else I can assist you with today ?

I dont think my vacuum has suction. and it smells like burnt rubber

HI, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!

If your vacuum is giving off any kind of burning smell unplug it immediately and check for the following problems.

  • Check your vacuums motor for any signs of smoke
  • Check your wall socket, and vacuum plug to see if there is any heat coming from either.

Your vacuums motor may be running hot for a number of reasons. Your vacuums filters may be blocked, or your vacuums bag/dust bin may be full. Be sure to empty the bag and clean/replace your filters.

Also, check your vacuums belt. Make sure the belt is still in position and is wrapped around the brush roll properly. The belt should have a good bit of tension around it. If the belt isn't on properly it may be getting jammed and causing friction, which would give off that burning smell.

Hair may be wrapped around your brush roll as well, which would also contribute to a foul smell coming from your vacuum once it's turned on. Clear out your brush roll with a razor, or a pair of scissors.

Rotation brush starts then stops

Hi, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!

Start by checking your unit's brushroll and clear it of any tangled hair strands or debris that my be blocking the airway. Manually spin the brush after unplugging the vacuum. There may be something noticeably jamming it on the bottom of the unit. What make and model is the vacuum?

Vax customer support

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

There are a few potential solutions you should try to fix the spray on your vax vacuum. Under the brush you will find a plastic strip with pinholes in it that sprays the water. The pinholes can get clogged, so you can clear them by pushing a pin sized object through them.

You can also try looking at the pipes and valves inside the machine. These can become blocked by different materials. To open them up, put hot water into the water tank and run the machine while pressing the trigger on and off to give bursts of pressure to help clear the blockage. After this is done repeat the first solution above.

I hope this was helpful. If you would like further assistance, please feel free to give us a call at 877.750.9239. We have helpful and friendly customer care representatives on the line ready to assist you.
