Can you take turbo 350 transmisson and bolt to a 4.3 moter

get the correct length bolts for the job
talk with the shop as the torque converter supplied b may have a different thickness mounts requiring spacers

first you will need to pop out the dash top because there is 2 nuts by the bottom of the glass on the fire wall where the wiper motor is under the cowl then open the hood and remove the wiper arms and the cowl then you will have 2 or 3 bolts that hold the wiper transmisson in place and out comes the wiper moter

From this chart - I think you may be misreading the number - 3970010 is possibly the actual number: Which makes the engine pretty old 68-72 350 V8 - 4 bolt main. I included past this number so that you can see that the number you posted doesn't actually exist. And thus my conclusion that the 9 is most likely a 0. yeah this will work....most 350 big blocks come with either a 350, 350 turbo or 400 turbo transmissions.....bolt pattern is the same

What kind of motor originally bolted to the firebird ******?

Any smallblock chevy to a bigblock chevy will bolt up. examples I would go with : 350 or a 454 . The 6.5 uses the same transmission bolt pattern as these engines. If it's an automatic the flywhell might still work on the 350 or 454.

How many time will it shift? twice. 1 to 2 and 2 to 3.

ok ive experienced this same problem, my dad has the same year truck as u.first year powerstroke, you have to remove the turbo, there will be one bolt in the turbo stand, u will need a 10mm universal joint for a 1/4 inch drive ratchet, to remove it, but under the turbo stang there will be 2 O rings, replace those and u will be set to go.

You just need to Locate one from a 350 Chevy. They have the Same Bolt Pattern.

most chevy trucks come with a 700r4 turbo tans in them if you have a 350 better count the bolt holes to be sure your local parts store should be able to hep you with that
