SOURCE: wpa key on modem
I have never seen a "modem" with a WPA key, so I am guessing you mean a "router".
Routers have a configuration menu that is accessible using a web browser. In those configs is where you can get your WPA key.
The documentation to your router will tell you the exact address to enter to open the configs. It is usually http://192.168.1.1
You will also need to know the routers password. If it is linksys, the default password is a blank username and "admin" for the password. But if someone setup the wireless to use a WPA key, they most likely also changes the default password. So you will need to talk to whoever set your router up for that password. If that person is non-existant, you can hard reset the router by pressing the pin sized button on back of it for a few seconds. If you do a hard reset like this, it will erase ALL settings.
