My Goodman AC unit is not working when i turn on ac on with is cold but the fan not is not running why ? but the heat is working fine { fan is working with the heat

Generally the fan operates by the command from the thermostat. First thing I would try is put the fan/auto switch in the on position. If the fan comes on you have a problem with the thermostat or the green wire that goes to the G terminal on the thermostat sub base. I suspect he may not have programed the thermostat for the type of system you have or he doesn't have a jumper between the rc and rh terminal on the sub base. Sometimes the jumper is not required and the thermostat instructions must be read completely to get the answers. Goods luck hope this helps.

Lux Thermostat 500

The Lux 500 Thermostat is an affordable programmable thermostat that gives you a very easy way to customize your heating and cooling temperatures to your schedule. The programming of this thermostat is easily the simplest that I have found in a programmable t-stat.

The Lux 500 series thermostats are a great economical way to reduce energy and utility expenses by raising or lowering your temperature settings a the times you set. The installation is so easy that most any DIY’er can install this thermostat. It has an easy to read display and the rotary dial makes the programming very user friendly.

A few of the other great features of this unit are, a keyboard lockout, and an air filter reminder.

This thermostat can be used on any 24v AC or 750mV single stage conventional heating/cooling system. Single stage heat pumps without auxiliary heat will also work with this thermostat.

Here is a summary of the features of this thermostat

Honeywell Thermostat RTH6350 makes heat run in AC mode after AC runs

Well, if it wasn't doing that before then you more than likely know its in your wiring. Cools down then heats back up sounds like the auto change over is on, and the heat setting is higher than the cool setting?

My programmable thermostat does not work properly. When I attempt to push "temporary hold" and set a temp, it responds sometimes but will not continue to hear the house. OR it does not respond...

you should hear the themostat make a light click when it calls for heat...the hold or as you said temporary hold overides any programming you have and should maintain that temperature you are setting it on indefinetely of until the next programmed cycle... to check and make sure the unit is actually working properly try it again ... actually go after you hold the setting and see if unit is working...digital thermostat have a five minute time delay built in so from the time you press hold and raise the temperature above house temp a few degrees start a counter for 5 mins... if the unit does not come on then unplug the unit or reset breakers to heat and try again watching the unit to see if anything happens...is this a gas unit or electric unit? if the unit never responds then go to thermostat and remove cover take a small jumper wire and jump out the "r" terminal and the "w"terminal which is power and heat circuit see if it comes on if it does and should immediately as this way bypasses the thermostat operation then you have a faulty t-stat.

I have an old RUUD central AC unit that started blowing hot air. I set the thermostat to off and set the temp gage higher than air temp to turn the unit off and save money, but inside blower unit runs...

Hello

Okay did you check your thermostat to see if you have the fan switch on auto? The switch must be on auto or the fan will continue to run. If the thermostat fan switch is on auto then there is a malfunction in the thermostat probably. You can go to your forced air unit and on unplug the unit. That way it will not turn on at all, because the forced air unit is controlled by the thermostat. Hope this helps.

Unit will run if the thermostat is switch on ON, but if left on AUTO unit will hum and won't run.

For most Thermostats on and auto is for the fan switch function. There s usually another button for heat off cool. When you turn a\c or heat on , the fan switch should be on auto.

Honeywell Old T874D1512 dual heat/cool thermostat

I think I understand what you are saying....First, that switch marked On and Auto, is to control the blower fan only. So when you switch that to On, it turns on the blower, but not the actual heat. It sounds more like a problem at the furnace then at the thermostat.
