Have you tried opening Itunes and from your Itunes library, drag and drop the music files going to your Ipod? If it's still the same, you might want to try resetting your Ipod touch.

Soft Reset:
1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of the unit until a red slider appears
2. Drag the slider.
3. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

If Soft Reset didn't work, you can try to do a Hard Reset:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If none of the steps fix the problem, you can try to connect your Ipod touch to another USB slot on your computer and check if the problem persist. You can also try to use a different USB Ipod cable to reconnect your Ipod to the computer.

If none of these work, you can restore your Ipod touch back to it's factory settings. Restoring your Ipod means you will lose all data in the ipod and also gets rid of Jailbreak (if you did Jailbreak it).

You can follow the instructions on how to Restore your Ipod Touch here.

Ipod touch wound sync to my computer. i had a nano first. when i tryed to sync my ipod touch i did not reg. to my computer, i just tryed to copy my music to the new ipod. my daughter shares our music from...

Open iTunes (without iPod connected). Create a new playlist and copy songs you want on your iPod into that list. Next connect your iPod. Once iTunes recognizes your iPod then go to the music tab and click on 'sync playlist only' and chose the new playlist that you created. Click sync. Only the songs in your new playlist should be copied to your iPod.

You can do this easily using itunes. Do you already have this installed? Itunes will convert the music and songs to the proper format before doing the transfer.
