When I connect my computer or gaming device to this router it does not work. When I connect my computer or gaming device to the modem directly they work fine. All the lights except the internet and the modem light do not come on.

Hi,

You will have to open some specific ports on the router. You will have to access the router's setup page and use the port forwarding or port triggering setting.

L cannot get internet when connected to my router, but l get internet when connected to modem directly.

Your ISP allows only one device to connect to their network.
When you change devices (router versus computer),
you need to power-off the ISP's modem, and unplug it.
Connect the router to the modem, and connect your computer to your router.
Plug the modem back in, and the modem will "forget" what device was previously connected.

New modem installed and router won't work now

First step is to make sure if the modem is working. Connect your computer directly to modem with ethernet cable and see if you can log on to internet! if yes
next step connect modem to your router's WAN port with an ethernet cable and then connect your computer to one of the LAN ports of router with ethernet cable. Power down all devices and power up modem first wait until all lights are on and then router wait until all lights are on then your computer! 9 out of 10 times this works! try good luck!!

Does not connect 2 internet

Are you getting any error messages? Is your computer plugged directly into a modem, or is it connected directly to a router. Is the computer connecting to the internet using a wireless network card? If connected directly to the modem, shut off the modem, wait a few seconds and restart; also reboot your computer. If that does not work, go into device manager If you're running windows xp - it can be found by going into control panel - system - device manager and see if your network card is listed without any x's or other markings which indicate a problem with the device. If your network card is indicated with no markings, and it is not working, try downloading and reinstalling the drivers for your system's network connection device (you can get that from your system's support page). If your plugged into a router, or if your connecting to the internet via wifi, try shutting off and restarting the router. Reboot your computer and see if that works. If not, you might need to download and install a firmware upgrade for the router. This is relatively simple, and the instructions and appropriate download file can be found at your router manufacturer's support page. Try these and see which works. Good luck!

Modem will connect to router but not to computer

This is mostly because it has not adapted to the changes when using another device aside from the router, especially a router. What I have done with internet modems is when you are removing a router, or if you are installing a router is allow that modem to be shut down for about 10 - 20 minutes before you use other devices it does not recognize right away.

My router is not working. i have to connect it directly to my modem

have you rebooted your modem after you plugged in your router? remember, your modem picks up you computer's ip address and stays with that address until it gets powered off and on. then it gets the ip address of whatever device you have plugged in to. if you plugged your router to your modem without power cycling the modem, then you won't connect other devices wirelessly because it does not recognize the ip address.

I have a primus modem hocked to router computers don't connect if i connect modem direct it works what do i do

attach the router to the modem, computers to the router. then turn off the computers and press the reset button on router first. when it comes up press the reset button on modem. most cable/dsl modems can only use one device. if the router is all that in on when it is reset it will use it's ip address. the router will pass this along to the computers.

The best thing to do is connect it directly to router modem. If it is too far away then computer tower.

I dont know what the telephone light means

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.
