Question about Computers & Internet
In order for you to install the latest driver, you would need to have the device name first for us to search the corresponding driver/software for it online.
Since you did not indicate the Device name (model name, brand name), you can use the Device Manager window to try downloading the driver for the said Unknown device. Make sure that you have an internet connection before you can do this.
Step 1: Right Click on "My Computer" and click "Properties"
Step 2: Click the Hardware Tab in the pop-up window, then click the "hardware manager".
Step 3: In pop-up window, select hardware driver you wanna to update, and right click to view device information.
Step 4: Then click "Update Driver" tab to upgrade the device driver.
It's highly recommended that you download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website first once you know the model name and brand of the specific device that you want to get a driver for.
Hope this information helps. Please do not forget to give me a rating.

I also upgraded a new Compaq C751NR from Vista to XP, and the last yellow tag in device manager was-acpiHPQ0006
I used the driver from ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38001-38500/sp38171.exe
and used the 'setup.exe' in the folder. Worked perfectly.

SOURCE: driver missing
We had the same exact problem but with a Compaq Pesario V6000 series notebook. Ours had to do with the NVidia System Management Controller but was listed in the device manager as a coprocessor. Kind of a bland description.
Solution: Downloaded and installed NVidia System Management Controller from here. Hope this helps.
