If your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers or you can download the drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

STR -DE1075. I lose surround but can restore after turning up volume then reducing it.

Not sure if you can fix it, but looks like internal capacitor charging problem, capacitor leaking causes this kind of issue, raising volume is charging the driver capacitors to keep surrounded speakers up, thats my guess, however it needs careful inspection to resolve. So advice would be to show it to the mechanic.

Losing one channel, comes back if you move the volume switch around then goes again ?

Hi,

That must be a dirty volume control (potmeter).
Or there's a lose contact on the PCB which is soldered to your volume control (potmeter).

Gerard

L have a toshiba satellite m55-s331. I have very low volume. Tried the obvious inc downloading new drivers, updating ect. Nothing works! I have realtekAC97 audio driver. Please help! Keep it simple as I am...

You might be able to adjust the volume further from the control panel.

In windows xp click "start" and then select "control panel" Next click sounds, speach, & audio devices next to a speaker icon. Then click the "sounds and audio devices"

you should be able to adjust the volume there as well as a volume control on the front or side of your laptop.

good luck
