I assume you are using the integrated video, (on board). With a new power supply and motherboard you have eliminated all but the monitor. Try a different monitor. I have also seen a case where a computer tower worked fine in one setup with a flat screen, but when hooked up to an older CRT monitor it would not display because of the resolution settings.

Tried other monitors no signal. Is it possible the computer is recovering from improper shutdown and just needs time?

Even without a hard drive installed you will still have display as it boots to bios so improper shut down won't be an issue. You did say you replaced the motherboard right?

Remove and reseat the memory, then disconnect everything except power to the motherboard and see if you get any display.

Desktop cases have standard mounting holes that allow you to fit a range of motherboards.
I do volunteer work and setup and repair computers and have not found problems fitting motherboards in desktop cases, except in some small format brand name computers such as HP and IBM computers.

I have an aspire M5640 and I upgrade my video card so I had to upgrade PSU to 550W and my sistem frezzes on boot? What can be the problem? Thanks

Make sure you have securely connected both the four pin and 24 pin motherboard power connectors into the motherboard. If either one of these are even partially unplugged it can cause your system to freeze. Also, since you have been working inside the computer, try pushing the RAM in, just in case it came loose. If you are still encountering problems check all the rest of the power and data connections inside your computer including hard drives and the new video card.

Power supply is good, fans running - no display on

make sure to check the video cable (DVI,VGA,HDMI) if properly connected

if youre using an independent video card and your motherboard has a builtin try to use the integrated to check if the video card is faulty

if you dont have a video card and using the integrated the motherboard might be faulty

Monitor has power, computer will not power up after blown circuit

Try to make a "clear CMOS". There should be a 3 pin slot on the motherboard. Remove the jumper from the first 2 pins and put it to the other 2. The middle pin will be always occupied.
If not, try to change the power source and see if it does the same thing. If so, then you have to change the motherboard.
If you need further assistance, just leave a comment.
