Wow, that is a surprise!

Welcome to Fixya.

Your problem tgeorgeone is one of software failure. The microprocessor is out of sync with the rest of the unit. It could be due to a faulty switch or a electronic bug in the system. It is looked at by a technician, claim warranty support if you are able to. Warranty support is free in most cases.

Also see the manual as a suggestion and ensure that the time is correct on the coffee maker. Check to see if this model features a reset button.

All the best though!

Hi tgeorgeone,

This problem that when the machine says "brewing" but nothing is happening and vise versa is probably caused by a failure of a thermal fuser. You may contact Kuerig directly to setup a repair request with them at 866-901-BREW (2739). There are other customers who do have the same problem and Kuerig sent a replacement for their machine.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

Hi tgeorgeone,

If you're experiencing "not ready" failure mode, sometimes it is caused by some configurations on the machine. Here are some steps that you can apply to correct this problem.

1. Simultaneously press and release [small mug] and [medium mug]. Immediately press [menu] 3 times.
--> Menu is the black button under the display screen. You should see a time 6:09 on your screen.

2. Now, press [menu] once. Your LCD screen should say Brew 0:00.
--> You have to unplug if the LCD displays "auto ____". If it continues to flash "Not Ready" and "Brew" then you can just keep trying step number 3.

3. Press and hold [medium mug]. While holding [medium mug] press and release [menu]. Immediately after pressing [menu] (while still holding "medium mug") press [small mug]. Release [small mug] and [medium mug] at the same time. This entire thing needs to be done very quickly. as soon as you release [menu] go to [small mug] and release both buttons quickly.
--> If you messed this step, please unplug the machine then replug it and start over at the step 1.

4. Unplug the machine (do not turn it off). Wait for 3 seconds or so. Plug it back in, turn it on and follow the instructions for priming.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Symptom: keurig B70 coffee maker not brewing. If your brewer sounds like it should be brewing but little or no coffee comes out, the problem may be a simple malfunctioning check valve, located on the right hand side of the unit under the plastic cover. If the check valve is clogged or fails, water from the tank leaks into the air pump (located just below the valve) disabling the pump.

This happened to my brewer two days ago. I have had this unit for about four years and never had a problem. When I called tech support at Keurig they said "it sounds like the pump is shot", but there was nothing they could do and they would not repair it. Instead of the throwing out my $300 coffee maker I figured I would try to fix it myself.

After 3 hours of tinkering, I found and fixed the problem, so I am passing on the tip. Since 2.5 of those hours were spent diagnosing the problem, the fix itself is pretty simple.

The pump that pushes the water out of the tank located on the right hand side of the unit (I included a photo) has a check valve just above it. On my unit the check valve failed allowing water to enter the top chamber of the pump disabling it. The pump was not damaged it just cannot operate correctly with water in it.

Here is the Fix: Disconnect the check valve and make sure it is operating correctly. Mine was clogged with a small amount of mineral deposits, which was cured by a half hour in a glass of vinegar, and a good rinse. Then disconnect the tubing from the top of the pump and run the unit to allowing the water to escape the pump. Make sure there is no water left in any of the tubing between the pump and the check valve, even the smallest amount will disable the pump again. Reconnect everything and it should work.

Hope this was helpful.

Check the K-cup.push it down tight with your fingers so that it sits tight into place .If its loose or not seated properly, the water can leak. The reason this occurs is because when you pull the handle down before brewing, there is a gap spacing and it doesnt press the K-cup all the way down to get punctured properly on the bottom and so the water runs into the K cup but not all of it can run out the bottom, hence the overflow.---------Check out.Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.

Hello,

There are many reasons a Keurig B70, or Platinum, beverage brewer ceases to brew. Whether the brewer has low water or needs descaling, basic upkeep is required to maintain the brewer at its maximum performance.
Lack of water will prevent the B70 from brewing. If there is not enough water in the reservoir, "Add Water" will flash on the LCD screen of the B70 brewer. Once water has been added and the tank replaced, the LCD screen will read "Ready To Brew". If, once water has been added, the brewer still indicates that water is to be added, contact customer service.
Over time minerals from the water build up within the B70 brewer, hindering brew performance. It is recommended that the brewer be descaled every 3-6 months, depending on the quality of the water used.
The exit needle is where the brewed beverage exits the machine. This needle, located at the bottom of the K-cup holder, may become clogged with grounds. Remove the K-cup holder and disassemble. Using a toothpick or similar tool, push the grounds out of the needle.

I hope the above helps to solve your problem.

Good luck.

Hi..

• After placing the K-Cup® in the K-Cup Holder, make
sure the Handle is pushed down securely and the
LCD Control Center reads "READY TO BREW" with
the Left, Right and BREW Buttons flashing, then
press the Left, Right or BREW Button.

• If the LCD Control Center indicates "ADD
WATER", add water to the Water Reservoir or
make sure the Water Reservoir is seated properly
in its base.

• If the LCD Control Center indicates "ADD WATER"
even after refilling, refer to troubleshooting manual

• The Exit Needle may be clogged (refer to page 14 in manual guide).

regards

SOURCE: Keurig B50 Ultra brewer

This is a known problem with the B50 which Keurig will acknowledge if you press them hard. Some users have suggested trying to clean the check valve just inside the water outlet but the best solution is probably to call customer support, complain like crazy, and take the discount on a new machine that they will offer you. Apparently, this problem occurs much more often with the B50 than with more recent models, which may explain why it isn't on the market anymore.
