Purchase some carb clean and take your air box(filter) off and hold throttle wide open spray short burst in then try to start, if fires up and quits, try until it goes, prob have to work old gas through it, also make sure your primer is functional full of gas and works o.k.

Dont start

If plug is not fouled and you have ignition, then the diaphragm (fuel pump) in the carburetor is no good. Try a carburetor kit . Caution - do not use compressed air or carburetor cleaner on these weed trimmers. Many employ one way check valves imbedded inside the carburetor by the primer bulb and the cleaners and compressed air can damage the valves resulting in carburetor replacement.

I have a weed eater trimmer that wont start. ben sitting for a couple years and i replaced the fuel lines andcleaned the carb. still nothing, what do i do?

Try cleaning the spark plug, make sure it sparks. Put some fresh gasoline in the tank, check start stop switch.
A easy way to check whether the problem is related to carb or not is:
remove the spark plug put some fresh gasoline in the cylinder, put the spark plug back
pull the starter a few times if it starts for a few seconds it means is related to carb.
Be carefully when handling gasoline.

Engine suddenly quit and will not restart or fire.

Hello. Begin by changing your air filter. If the air filter is dirty or has too much oil in it the trimmer will not start. Next, change the spark plug. Then check the fuel filter inside of the tank to be sure it is not clogged.

Finally, I do have a customer now and then who accidentally puts in the wrong fuel [for instance straight gas instead of the gas and oil mix required]. If this is a possibility, drain the tank and start over with a fresh gallon of gas and a fresh 2 cycle oil mix. Joe

Mcculloch t 240 petrol will not start

If your petrol has been sitting in the machine for a long time then yes it is your petrol. Mix a new batch usually you cannot let that sit around for more than 30 days, I always try to use fresh mixes, usually that means making smaller batches unless you use your trimmer quite a bit, most people do not though and that's when problems arise.

I have a rhobi strimmer only 2 years old wont start

I presume this is a petrol one. The fuel can dry in the carby and stop the unit from starting. Use fresh petrol.
I am not sure about the ryoby unit, but if there is a air filter, take it out and dip it in petrol, then try to start with the normal proceedure in the manual.

Ryobi line cutter - petrol lines all broken

Petrol lines disintegrate when fuel is stored in the trimmer for long periods of time. These can be obtained from any small tool repair store. Just remove them and install new ones. They just slip through the holes in the tank, re-attach the fuel filter on the supply line. Make sure that the line is long enough so that the filter rests on the back/bottom corner of the tank. Be sure that the lines are attached to the proper ports on the carb>

Hi, first you'll have to change the air filter and the spark plug. now, go buy some hi octane gas. drain the old gas and put the fresh gas in. if this don't solve your problem please write again.
