You need a screw extractor. Google it. There are several styles. They aren't expensive. Basically you drill a hole in the bolt (a little smaller hole than the bolt so you don't ruin the thread in the engine block), then you tap the extractor into the hole and turn it with a wrench. Good luck.

How do you remove a broken head bolt?

I would centre punch mark the centre of the broken stud and with a drill stand, drill a hole down the whole length of the stud, getting larger and larger as I change the bits. When I reach the last threads peel the thread out using a pick. If the thread is damaged, drill oversized to tape to fit a Hellicoil.
The largest Essex Engine was 3.4litre V6, not 3.8. The most common was the 3.0litre fitted to the Zodiac and Capri. It was a V4 with two more pistons and uses the same head bolts etc.

I have a broken bolt, the top most of the three, that holds the thermostat housing assembly to the engine block. what is the best or easiest way to extract that piece of the bolt from the block?

You will probably need to drill a hole down through the center of the bolt and remove it with a bolt extractor.
Use a very reputable brand which will be more expensive. You do not want to break the bolt extractor off in the hole because that will be triple trouble.

2001 acura mdx 3.5 cylinder head removale

If the bolt broke flush, you'll need to soak it in a solution of 50% acetone and 50% auto trans fluid. Then get a left hand drill bit taht is smaller than the bolt and drill it out. The left hand bit drills in reverse of a regular bit and will drill into the remains of the bolt and back it out as well. If it broke above the surface, get a MIG welder and weld a nut onto it and remove the bolt.

How to remove and replace the stator from a champion generator

You don't state what model you have. I just replaced the rotor on a Champion Model 41302 but removing the stator is the same process.

You will need to remove the muffler and muffler outer protection. Remove the bolts that hold the muffler outer protection. Remove the two bolts that hold muffler to the engine exhaust.

Take a block of wood and place it under the engine to support the generator. The supports on the generator head end will be removed so the generator will tip down and make it difficult to remove the stator.

Remove the generator end cover by removing two bolts.

Remove the two bolts that hold the muffler to the end cover.0834b898-460f-41f6-b0a0-6704ae605277.jpg

Remove the bolt that holds the ground from the generator to the frame.

Remove the two bolts that hold the end cover supports to the rubber supports to the frame.

Disconnect the quick connect electrical connectors and remove the 120/240 volt wiring from the terminal block. See second picture below.

Remove the ground from generator to wiring cable assembly by removing the bolt that connects it to the end cover. Yellow and green wire in picture above.

Remove the bolt from DC brush assembly and pull out of generator. Picture below shows assembly removed.

The stator and cover now can be removed from the generator. Take a rubber mallet to tap on the back of the brackets on the end cover to loosen it. The rotor bearing is seated in the end cover making it hard to remove by pulling by hand. Once lose pull straight out.

The stator can now be removed from the generator end by taking the four bolts out.

The installation process is the reverse.

How do you remove a broken bolt on the timimg belt tensioner pulley for a 2001 300m crysler

!st remove the tensioner if it is still bolted in place by second bolt. Easy outs are high tensile you will not drill through it. You may have to carefully try to chisel it out. If you can get it out try a left handed drill bit if you have room to drill. If it won't come you will probably have to re drill & tap a new thread & use oversize bolt

How do you change the 1998 audi a4 quattro cylinder head bolt. One of mine broke.

They make extractors that you could try and use to remove it you have to drill a little hole and then insert the removal tool, but they make different kinds. Worse case would be have to remove the head and hope that there is enough bolt left to get vise grips or something else clamped on tight enough to remove the bolt. Or the bolt will have to be drilled out and the hole re-tapped. This last step should not be attempted by a novice, but can be done successfully.

Head gasket

well first you got to find a replacement from a junk yard or used auto parts and then take a 10mm socket remove the gasket heat shield and then remove 4-5 bolts that is holding the gasket to the engine and then remove the 2 15mm bolts that is holding the gasket to the muffler and just put in the new one and replace the bolts back and your set to go

Block and mounts

there are at least 2 bolts that hold mount to block maybe 3 but whatever, you need them all. if you got one broke off in the block you got to get it out, drill hole down center and use an easyout to get it out, and plenty of penatrant. now there is only one bolt and nut that holds mount to the frame , if thats broke, all you need is a new motor mount.
