Sure we can help, if you provide us with detailed information.

    1. When system boots to "Safe mode options all the time" exactly what does this mean? Are you getting a Windows Startup menu? Does the system boot to the desktop and say "SAFE MODE" in each corner of the screen?

    2. What version of Windows? (XP Home? Vista Ultimate?)

    3. What brand PC? What Model? What Video Card?

    4. By "Loading up my PC" do you mean you are installing Windows and need assistance with installing drivers?
DETAILS, lots of Details will help us fix your issue, a 20 word sentence is not enough information.

OK, we have Windows XP and we cannot boot to the Desktop in Normal, Safe or last known good configuration.

You definitely have a windows OS issue, and you may have a hard drive problem.

If you post the Brand and Model of the system, that would help us to be able to give better info on running a diagnostic on the Hard Drive.

Many brands have an option for diagnostics on the F8 or F12 menus. See if you can run a hard drive diagnostic. It the hard drive fails diags, then you'll need to replace the drive. If it passes diagnostics, then try booting to the XP CD, entering recovery console and run CHKDSK /R

Since you've never identified the system brand and model, I'm limited in the advise I can give you on diagnostics.

If you don't have diags listed on those menus, boot to recovery console using the Windows XP cd AND RUN THE COMMAND chkdsk /r

If it's a damaged file system case then:-
1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.

2.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.

3.If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.

4.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

5.At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER.

6.At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer.

To get into the Windows 2000 / XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

Note: With some computers, if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.

Trouble Getting into Windows 2000 or Windows XP Safe mode - If after several attempts you are unable to get into Windows 2000 or Windows XP Safe Mode as the computer is booting into Windows, turn off your computer. When the computer is turned on the next time Windows should notice that the computer did not successfully boot and give you the Safe Mode screen.

How do you put windows into safe mode?

Power on or Restart your computer, keep tapping F8 on the keyboard while it boots up. After few seconds, you'll be taken to the "Advanced Boot Options" with "Safe Mode" in the lists. Use the Up-Down arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode" and press enter on the keyboard to confirm the selected boot options. Black Screen with white texts will be displayed on the display, wait for few seconds until you see the windows logon Screen. You'll also see a confirmation message box asking you to confirm to boot into Safe Mode, click "yes" or "Ok" and proceed forward. There now you are in the Safe Mode.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Help!!!!!

when you turn on the computer, press F8 before the xp logo shows up. then choose "Safe Mode".
if widows loads ok, a window will come up. click no to restore to a previous date.

If windows does NOT load, you have to re-install windows. Put the CD that came with your computer and run the setup.
NOTE: if you want to keep your files, do not choose any options that format your drive.
