I own a Garmin GPS and usually they require you to charge it up first. Either by a USB cable that plugs in to your GPS unit and then into the computer. Or you can charge it by your cigarette lighter in your vehicle. Some companies even supply you with a charger. But I would suggest you charge it up for a couple hours then try and use it.

I hope this helps you out if it does please give me a Yes on the web page you received this response from me on. Thank you.

I constantly have poor gps reception

You may find better reception by adding an antenna amplifier to your gps. If that doesn't work then I would try a different model and see if you get better reception. That would tell you something is wrong with the one you have.

My gps is showing the wrong current location. how

it hasnt linked to the satellites yet...make sure its fully charged, then slide the switch to the off position for 15 seconds, then power it back on and take the unit outside in clear view of the open sky and wait until the satellites lock on.

you can tell when the satellites are linked by the bar at the top in the main menu area..

Garmin street pilot c330 goes on and then goes off

Try to charge the unit for 4 hrs by using a wall adapter and then try power on it again and if still the same after you full charge the unit try to contact the manufacturer check if there is a latest firmware update for the unit.
