Question about Logitech Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My Gateway computer came with a USB connected/wireless keyboard/mouse. I am operating under MS Vista Home Premium. Suddenly the keyboard continues to function; however, the mouse is not working properly. Even though I have fully charged batteries in the mouse and the LED sensor flashes on/off rapidly, when I place the mouse back on the pad, it "turns off" and does not "start up" when I move it on the pad. Now, if I press the reset button on the USB/wireless sensor, the mouse will function for a short time (maybe 30 seconds), then the remote sensor turns off and the mouse stops working. I can "reset" the remote sensor and make the mouse work for that short time, but it's obviously not working right.

If its a logitech I would definitely encourage you to go to logitech.com and download the software for your devices. Logitech has excellent mice and with their software installed they run real well.

Move the wireless adapter (one end connects to the keyboard/mouse ports on your computer) closer to the front of your computer, i.e., closer to where your wireless KB/mouse are located.

Connecting to USB disconnects my wireless keyboard and mouse

The best thing to do is change your usb port for the adapter for your wireless keyboard and mouse. It sounds like there is a conflict in the usb on your computer. What operating system are you running? Windows Xp? If so, you may need to uninstall the usb device in the hardware manager for both usb devices.

Problem with KVM switch and Vista

Your problem has nothing to do with the Operating System (Vista), it has something to do with the brand of your computer. I have similar problem before, I have Vista (Dell), but the time I connected another Vista (Sony Vaio), everything worked correctly.

This is what you need to do:

1. You have to make sure that you are using a standard USB keyboard and mouse.

2. Connect first the keyboard and mouse directly to the Vista computer to see if the USB ports of your computer are working properly.

3. You may power cycle the KVM switch by disconnecting it from the computers (including the keyboard and mouse) and leave it disconnected for 2 minutes.

4. Reconnect everything after two minutes and then reboot the computers.

5. Try using different USB keyboard if problem exist after power cycling the KVM switch.
