Hey , i got the link went to the web page , followed the instructions the best i could . I downloaded the logitech program or whatever and went through a few steps , but when it said click on the device to calibrate it didnt show any. I dont think my computer is detecting my device . Could the 15 pin adapter i purchased be part of my problem as well. The reason i ask that is my other joystick that rescently got out of working order , as soon as it get plugged in the computer detectes it and automatictly installs it in matter of seconds . I dont understand why this one should be any different , but it is . lol .

I have a 25 pin microsoft sidewinder force feedback pro joystick which I use with a flight simulator. After updating to win 7 x64 I need to convert this to usb for the hardware to be viable. Any...

hey m8,

stumbled over your post while searching for sullotions for the same kind of problems.
I also have a perfectly working M$ sidewinder FF pro, trying to get it to work WITH force feedback.
However I am affraid there is no way to do this. From what I read is the gameport to slow to keep up with nowaday PC speeds :(

I got the joystick working up to windows XP (in XP it lost its FF tho and slowed down gameplay sometimes. Not sure if that was caused by the joystick or the game itself running in some compatibility mode). I was using the gameport from an old soundblaster live! by the way.

I did find something that may be usefull for you tho. Check the link below:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itprohardware/thread/20fa2ccd-061b-4864-abbd-96d1a9871a2f

I havent tested this yet myself and it will require a creative soundcard but I think it will have a better chance of working that using some converter from gameport to USB.

The joystick not functioning.

Hi there,

Here is the program you need IF you have windows XP :
http://www.driversdown.com/drivers/10842.shtml

Here is the program you need IF you have Windows 98/ME :
http://www.driversdown.com/drivers/10845.shtml

Then it is two ways to install the program:
1, see if by double clicking on the downloaded file it is coming a setup screen
IF NO setup screen is coming simply put your joystick in to the computer and a setup screen is coming here, follow the instructions on the screen and when it ask for the file, find it on the folder you have downloaded to.

FOR DOWNLOADING THE FILE :
select download on the link I gave you above, when you come to the site, choose download, then you come to a new site here you choose DOWN 1 and under there it is a link, press on that. Here iot should come a new window, and here you shall choose to "save" the file, you choose a folder so you can find the file again(ex documents) after and then choose "save". The file will be downloaded to your computer now :O)

IF the download screen does not starts, then try to look under your tabs in the browser, some times there it is a small stripe where it is writing : windows has prevent this site to send..... on that one simply right click on it and choose "download file"

Hope that helps
IF NOT then try to return here
Have a nice computing

Game will not recognize the joystick.

If it doesnt work, then try the controller. If the controller works, then just use that. Sometimes the system does not recognize the joystick.

Logitech attack 3 joystick-does it work with my IL-2 Sturmovik game?

First, check your game documentation to see if your game supports the use of a joystick. Most First Person Shoot 'em Ups do not support joysticks, and only supports mice/gamepads.

If joysticks are supported in your game, please read on...

Make sure that your joystick is properly installed and detected by your computer. You can check in Device Manager or Control Panel > Game Controllers. Also make sure you have the latest software (LGS/WingMan) installed.

Next, you will have to create a new profile for your game in the WingMan Profiler:
  1. Open the Logitech Profiler™ by clicking "Start", "Programs", "Logitech", and then "Launch Logitech Gaming Software".
  2. Click "Profile" from the pull down menus.
  3. Select "New..."
  4. Type in the name of the game the profile is being created for.
  5. In the next field, type the path to the game's executable file. It the exact path is not known, use the "Browse" button.
  6. Select an icon for this game profile and click "OK"
A profile for the game has now been created; however, game commands must also be entered. For information on how to do this, please see Knowledege Base article 274.

Hope that helps.

Please dont forget a FixYa rating if this solution was helpful. Thanks in advance.
