You have to disassemble the printer to find the entire waste ink tank (they are just two sets of absorbant pads). The first set of absorbant pads are under where the ink cartridges sit when at rest (or during cleaning cycles). The rest are at the bottom of the printer and you usually have to remove several screws to get to the location. Start at the top of the printer and work your way down.
