I have a Francis Francis x1 machine, but when i want to make an espresso shot, and turns on the espresso button, the steamer spour out boiling water (not steam, and not while turned on). Does anyone k

Don't know how your controls are set, but you have two switches on the front and a knob on the right. The switch for the steamer (the right hand switch) should be off. The knob on the right should be turned clockwise to turn in off. Then no water or steam should come out of the steamer wand. If it does, the seal on the knob inside the machine is broken. It can be repaired but only if you're handy with a screwdriver (make sure if you take it apart you disconnect it from the mains).

Water leaks around the steamer

May be. If you get the machine upside down (switched off) you will find a hole near the steam knob which allows access to a screw. Turn this screw with a flat bladed screwdriver and the knob will come off. There is a gasket (washer) near the end of this know which is the seal. I don't know where you get the seal, but try finding a rubber seal in a gasket kit. This may be the problem.

DONT KNOW HOW TO USE THE LEFT SIDE

Add water to the left side, tighten well. Put milk in the stainless steel carafe.
Add coffee to the left side container in the filter basket. Place carafe under the coffee container. Turn knob toward you to the 'off' position. Turn power to 'on' on Espresso (left) side. Once coffee is about halfway brewed, place stainless steel carafe with milk under the steamer with spout just below milk line, and turn knob away from you to the 'on' position. Frothing the milk is an art form and becomes easier with practice. Make sure all steam is depleted, then enjoy your cappuccino!
To make espresso, do the above without the milk.

The steamer dosen't work at all. When the knob is

First you should remove the end tip of the steam hose and try to clean the steam holes with a pin. The steam should come frealy withou the end tip. If not then you shoul desasemble the steam tap , clean it and put it back together. The problem is only caused by dry milk or milk with chocolate. Even if you manage to have some steam then the problem can be solve by using the steamer warming just water in a glass and leave it all nigh long inside the boiling water in glass this will meld the dirt and will gos away.

Starbucks Sirena. lights blink, won't heat.

johnshami had this solution on another post, and it worked for us:
  1. make sure the water in the tank is stone cold -- which is a no brainer since it will not heat h2o unless it's primed.
  2. take off steamer wand cover, turn the steamer knob clockwise till pump starts.
  3. then s*ck (as you would on a straw, with your lips sealed around the end of the steamer wand) the tip of the end of the metal tip hard until pump stops
  4. may need to do it a couple of times. yes this seems crazy, but it works! you are flushing out the vapor lock in the pump.

Francis francis milk steamer not operating

Steamer tubes can get plugged up with dried milk and/or calified water deposits in the tube.
With the machine unplugged, turn the tube up to check it, Clean it with a small guage wire.
Soak it in a small cup of vinegar, if needed.
Further cleaning, you can add a bit of vinegar to the water and steam it thru...
Let me know how it goes.

Steamer backed up water pours out under machine

On the cva 610 and 615 the steamer valve gasket tends to wear. Causing the unit to leak. Your best bet it to remove the steamer valve, Looking at the knob stem there is a plastic pin you can press to remove the stem from the valve. Once removed there's a small o-ring on the stem. ( That's where it's leaking from ) replace the o-ring and the stem to be safe. Also take a look at the micro sw to make sure it doen't have any corrosion if so replace it. If not your on the road to recovery. Good luck

Steamer on gaggia titanium

a. Possible air in the system. Switch to hot water iso steam, let warm water pas for a minute by turning the knob fully open. Stop tapping warm water (close the knob) and switch the machine to steam iso water. Try to get the steam by fully opening the knob (pump should start running).
b. Solidified milk in the system blocking internal tubes. To avoid this always purge the system (shortly open the steam to an empty cup or a towel) after you steamed milk to avoid milk being sucked back into the system due to condensation of steam (this creates a vacuum and reverse flow). To resolve the blocked tubing: clean the nozzle and try flushing the system (tapping warm water).

Try opening the frothing valve by turning the dial and force water through it instead of steam by pressing the middle, coffee button. You may be experiencing vapor lock. Once the water comes through the steamer valve, turn the steamer knob off and release the coffee button. Then try the steamer button with the steamer dial open. This may do the trick.
