Have to replace the Intermatic WG733... Do the gears come with the motor or do I have to take the gears out and place it in the timer motor?

1 Answer

The motor comes as 1 unit with plastic gears contained in steel housing:
The metal gears that are inside the sprinkler timer stay in place: add a bit of white lithium grease to metal gears.

I have an Intermatic T104R201. Recently the dial stopped rotating - it was due to the clock motor (I confimred that it was not working thru the visual inspection slot). I replaced the clock motor with...

Take it apart and look at the gears. Clean up the gears and timer. make sure dial is all the way down into place.
Check that white clock wires are connected to terminals 1 and 3
WH40 timer is same mechanism as T104R201 except without fireman's switch.

Pool pump clock

T104M used WG1573 clock motor:
The timer mechanism has metal gears, while the clock motor has plastic gears. If the metal gears get dirty and bind, it will strip the plastic gears.
Turn off power, pull timer out of box, Clean out timer with compressed air, and spray WD40, add a bit of white grease to lever where trippers make contact, then replace clock motor ... and buy another set of trippers to have on-hand since they are designed to wear down so timer will last longer.
If timer body is broken so dial does not rotate, then buy new T104 and snap new mechanism into old box. Buying whole T104 with enclosure is cheaper than buying T104M mechanism only.

I need replacement timer motors for T 103 Intermatic timers.Where can I order them from?

1) Copy fo0llowing links:

2) The suffix, -1 and -3 are not important.

3) WG733 is 208-277 Volt clock motor, normally found on sprinkler timer or T1900 series. WG430 is 120Volt clock motor normally found on T1400 series.

4) T103 timer is stock 120Volts, but can be changed into different voltage timer by changing clock motor.

Clock on T1905 timer switch has quit working. Fixable, or need a replacement?

120Volt T1905 Intermatic timer uses WG730 clock motor and 156T1950A tripper.
Timer will last many year by replacing parts, and keeping lubricated with touch of white grease, and not over-amping the 20 amp contacts

This timer can be converted into 208-277Volt timer by installing WG733 clock motor instead of 120Volt WG730.

I just replaced my pump and rewired it exactly as it was on my other pump. The pump works when I click the breaker on the power panel but the intermatic timer no longer works. Its like it skips it. No...

With different timer, add a comment for possible help:

Open following links to identify timer and replacement parts, and see typical manual:

Your timer is stuck ON.
Temporarily disconnect ground wire at pump to make sure short is not somehow completing 240Volt circuit.
Move toggle switch to Auto position, and then ON and then OFF > Toggle should be able to switch Load on-off. If toggle is problem, then order 133T1115A switch.
Note if the timer dial is rotating and keeping good time: if dial is not rotating, then replace WG733-14D clock motor.
If dial is rotating, the trippers might be worn down. Order 156T1950A trippers.
If dial is rotating, and trippers are good, then relay might be bad. Order 143T139A relay.

Add a comment and say what you discover.

The relay on my Paragon 1015-00RS timer has gone bad,, where can a purchase another one

You won't be able to find parts for that timer unless e-bay is selling used timer.
Patriot supply sells new timer, Aug 2011:

Paragon is no longer making timers and parts except defrost timers.

Intermatic crossover timer is 120Volt T1975, which sells for less and has replaceable 156T1978A trippers and WG733 clock motor. Relay is not replaceable part.

The pins on my intermatic timer are pulled up for 2 days. why is the timer allowing the sprinklers to come on every day?

R8816P101C manual:

I think it is more likely sprinkler valve is stuck than timer contacts are fused together.
This is because Intermatic mechanical timers physically pull and push contacts together-apart.
Take trippers all the way out and see if that changes.
Turn off 240V circuit breaker and see if that changes.
Add a comment and let me know what you find.

Usually you see trippers worn down and the sprinkler does not turn on.
Or WG733-14D 240V clock motor slows or stops, then dial will not rotate.
Sometimes the 133T115A toggle goes bad.
