Question about Rocktron Patch Mate Loop 8 Multi Loop Rack Switcher Silver

Open Question

Howdy, I've got a Rocktron Loop 8 patchmate that I use with a G Major and a Mesa Roadstar to switch channels and presets on the G major and last night I was trying to store a new preset on both the G major and Loop 8. I created a new preset on the G major then went to store the mode on the Loop 8 and it wouldnt save and wiped all the stored modes on the loop 8 and now I am finding that when I change presets on the G major (using a Rocktron Midi mate) the Loop 8 wont change channels and stays on mode 1 of the loop 8. I tried saving all my modes again on the loop 8 to no avail. When I press the store button on the loop 8 it will light up the mode that I last saved to and then when I hit the store button to save the mode it will always revert back to the 1st mode so now I cant change channels on the roadstar.....had a few headaches last night and threw in the towel....just wondering if the Loop 8 has shat itself. This will be the 2nd unit I've had in the last 18 months. Thanks for your Help Rich

How do I fix channels with no sound

Mute Switch/Mute-Clip LED :
  • This switch mutes all Aux, Group and L/R sends from the corresponding channel.
  • This switch is equipped with a red LED that will illuminate when the channel is muted.
  • When the MUTE button is out,the LED functions as a Clip indicator that will illuminate at 2 dB below clipping.
  • Muting the channel does not prevent the PFL signal from being sent to the PFL/AFL mix when the PFL Switch (12) is in.
  • This switch mutes its respective Group send from the Group channel.

You can also try, Restoring Factory Settings, in the Utility Menu Options.

Peavey FX Mixer Series Operating Manual

Restoring the factory settings option resets your mixer's presets, reformatting factory presets and erasing all other user presets. (This option is handy when your venue has permanently changed and all-new presets are required.)
Once confirmed, the presets are not retrievable and will be permanently lost.
Should you select this option in error, a warning screen allows you to cancel the procedure.

Amp goes to half power? Even after tube replacement.

How do you know it is going half power? did you measure this, or do you only hear half the power? because then also a speaker (or more) could be not working.

Hi I have a vhf digitech AM-4071 wireless microphone system and the problem is that both microphones are going only through one RF, on the transmitter. The second mic goes but its not receiving on tr

You need to check that they are both operating on different channels there should be a switch or POT on the microphone and possibly one on the reciever. If they are static or preset you need to swap one for the other channel. Some (usualy cheap) mics have a preset or static channel often ch-A and ch-B, there should be one of each in the box. If you bought the extra body packs they will also come with the preset channels.

Patchmate 8 is suddenly losing half it's level, is it fried?

Without knowing your complete setup it is hard to know the source of the problem... HOWEVER... One problem I see is that if you are using certain types of external effects, this device does NOT use balanced lines (TRS cables) and some of the effects units do use balanced. That, depending on your cables can cost 6DB of gain... and MAY be intermitent depending on whether your cables contact the ring of the TRS connector in the effects unit. This is not normally a problem if you are only using pedal type effects units. Most rack mounted effects are another story. If you need to go between balanaced and unbalanced you may need to use DI boxes. Since this device uses relays, if a relay isn't conducting fully it would distort the sound terribly passing mostly high frequencies.

I've had my Taylor T3 for over two years with no problems. Done a lot of gigging with it as my main axe. Just got off the road and discovered a major problem: the volume on my neck pickup is...

More likely a failed selector switch. Try working it back and forth a few dozen times. Contact cleaner may be tried too, squirting in the back of the switch.

I have static in my 8/10 mesa cabinet. Its only in the second bank of speakers. The speakers seem to work and sound as good as the others in the cabinet but there is a weird light static sound that comes...

Sometimes there is a resonance with materials that are a part of the case or inside the cabinet that cause this. If the level is very low, don''t worry about it. I have even seen the logo on a speaker grill causing the noise... also debris inside or behind the grille...

When i hook up through the loop on my marshall head, connecting cables are being fried.

If you are frying cables that is bad! This means you have a bad ground loop.

IF that is an old Marshall head that doesn't have a three wire (with ground pin) power cord on it, take it in immediately to have a three wire grounding cord on it before you fry yourself and not just cables. Their old technique of having a switch to change to create a pseudo ground was stupid and VERY dangerous !

You can severely damage equipment due to bad grounds.

ALWAYS connect all interconnected electronics to the same power source or receeptacle.

When i press the harmony effect i have to hold it

Well i hope the latching mechanism isn't busted!

Check/review your parameter settings for your programs. Especially in the Expression Pedal Control areas.

From their site:

--Harmony Footswitch
This footswitch turns the harmonies on or off. While multiple harmonies can be selected within a preset, the HARMONY footswitch activates or deactivates any selected harmonies simultaneously.
When the LED above the HARMONY footswitch is illuminated, the harmonies are on. When the LED is turned off, the harmonies are turned off.

--Note: The settings for FX Footswitch Control, Harmony Footswitch Control and Guitar Sensitivity apply to ALL presets. The setting for the Expression Pedal Control applies to the current preset only. If you modify the Expression Pedal setting and wish to store it you must Store the preset (see page 11 ). When you load another preset, its setting for Expression Pedal Control will take effect.

--To perform a Factory Reset procedure
If you are editing a preset, press the Up or Down footswitch to exit edit mode.
Press and hold the Major/Minor button and then press and release the Store button. The display will read FAC RESET- WILL ERASE ALL YOUR PRESETS... , then STORE=RST.
Press the Store button again to continue with the factory reset. If you don’t want to do the factory reset, just wait 5 seconds, or press almost any other button, to cancel.

High pitched squeal when the input jack is used.

Sounds like your master volume is turned up too much. The channel volume will make the squealing go away(caused by high gain and humbuckers). The best thing to do is dial in your favorite presets and change the channel volume to the correct level with the master volume where you usually keep it. I use my Spider Valve at master volume at about noon and the channel volume between nine o'clock and noon. Let me know if this does not solve the problem......
