Try pressing [Windows Logo Key] and the L key at the same time. This should unlock the keyboard.

Caps are on all the time

Press the
"caps lock" key once to take it off capital letters. If that doesn't work, get an external keyboard and plug it in and try it. That should do it.

I have a presario cq56-115dx, I took the keyboard off and then put it back in, now only a few keys are working, what could be the problem?

I would check to see that the ribbon cable for the keyboard is properly seated in its ZIF receptacle, and that the cable wasn't inadvertantly damaged during the remove and re-install process.

I bought Compaq Presario CQ56 couple of days back and the mouse from touchpad keeps freezing and do not move. But USB wireless mouse works well even when the pad one is not. Could you please help?

a machine that new I would defiantly take it back and have it either fixed or replace, time is on your side i would take advantage of the manufacture warranty. i would also look on the keyboard see if there is a mouse locking feature, its normally the picture of a mouse on one of your function keys, press function and the key with the mouse icon on it and that may take care of it.

Yyeah i have a compaq presario cq56 and i dont see numb lock anyone know where it is

There is no numlock key. The reason for that is because there is not a dedicated number pad like on most desktop keyboards. the numlock key specifies using the numbers on the pad, or the arrows and alternate functions of the keypad.

This laptop does not have a numblock key, because the keyboard does not feature a dedicated number pad like most desktop keyboards!
